Just put down final payment today... my car is coming soon!!!!

[EDIT]BTW, someone mentioned about VIN a few pages back... anyone know where is the VIN on forte???
*
The VIN number is located in front of wind screen of the passenger seat . If your SA give you the vehicle sales order sheet after you have paid your down payment, that can be refer to Chassis number.

Anyone tinted your car in TintMaster Puchong? I got the voucher for it, but not sure how is their films quality, workmanship and services. Any comments?

Seriously, the workmanship so so only.
Film quality is ok.
but their service manner is not good.

I would say if you got other choices like ecotint or llumar, don't go for that. smile.gif
btw, carekool in puchong brand has better workmanship and friendly. But I'm not so sure about the film quality, by looking my colleague's film, it seems good.
*
Thank for the advise, meanwhile, I also drop by Raytech in Seri Kembangan, seem they are working on few cars together (good business huh), person in charge there quite friendly and introduce few secure film packages to me. Their film is ceramic based so it won't rust over the time. They also give higher discount for CS-85 Armor package. I will put this as one of my shopping list too.

This is the first time i heard about PPS and SierraGlow.
May i know what PPS is, any link to it? For SG i'm reading the link given by yhlee12.

However it seems to me that both product would need around RM600?
I don't have that much cash now and if i would like to do only the traditional polish or wax to tahan till i have time and $$ to do PPS/SG, what is the recommendation?
Does new car need to polish? Or wax enough?
P.S: Since many times ppl ask what spec and color i got, i have put it in my signature below smile.gif
*
DIY is good to have a close contact and monitor the status of your car, but if you not skillful enough, polish/wax will created the swirl effects on your car surface over the time.

My colleagues is using PPS and they quite happy with the results, but just every half year need to go back to the shop for maintenance. SierraGlow done once and last for 5 years.

I'm the lazy person, so I choose SG. I booked the time with Mr Choong and the offered price for Forte is RM580.00. Maybe I can give further comments after the services. smile.gif

May i know how much PPS is, and the maintenence every year?

Not quite sure with PPS price now. I think 1 time cost is around the same as SG. Maintenance should be 100++. You can give them a call to find out more.

Finally get my 1.6SX today in Rawang, I went few places and reach home with ODO 99km.

When I waiting my SA in the showroom, I saw another guy there, apparently he also booked Forte 2.0, and he is so frustrated and complaining the empty promises made by Naza all this while. According to my SA, there are only 100 units of Forte 2.0 shipped to Malaysia, and Kastem already released it all. Naza allocate 50 units for to the branches and another 50 to the dealers. Next shipment from Korea still remain unknown. Hence, whoever booked 2.0 but yet to receive in this allocation, you may need to wait a little bit longer then.

This is the 3rd day I drive my Forte. So far, other than the common alignment and vapor problems the rest is just fine, leaves me speechless consider the price I paid for the car. The car is just worth for the $.

I drove all along the way from Rawang back to home, the car can reach 7.0l/100km in the highway (in average is 14km per liter) this is consider is very good FC! However, the fuel consumption raise on 2nd day I stuck in the jam to the office and the way back (raised to 8.6l/100km). I found some time when the car start move from the still, I have to press the pedal harder (up to 2000x/per minute rev) then the car start shift to next gear. This can be the main reason of higher FC when you were caught in the jam.

The keyless system just so cool! This is one of the must-demo-point when I show the car to my friends. biggrin.gif , meanwhile, this also one of my most worry part also. I do heard about the case that someone have the key inside the car but still manage to lock the door from outside, and he took so much trouble to open the door again. I also heard people installed the car alarm, and the alarm override the key detection system, thus, the car owner accidentally locked the door with his car key inside the car, and he unable to open the door from outside. Not sure if this is related to the first case.

Still a lot of my friends (and my parents friends too!) having a doubt on Kia brand (huh? Kia ahhh.... shocking.gif ), they not even consider Forte as Kia is never in their radar. To be honest, I'm one of them before, until I really see it, feel it and test drive it. The elegant and stylish design and come with the plenty of the safely features (those even included in the most basic spec!), and good car handling really changed my perception on Kia brand, I can say this is one of the most important milestone for Kia to be the strong contender of Honda, Toyota and Nissan, whom dominate the C-segment car market in Malaysia all this while. Now the only factor leave is the services of Naza. If Naza can improve their 3S in par as other famous car brand here, I can foresee more and more people will start to consider Forte and other Kia products.

So far, there are only 1 Forte in my company car park, and I'm proud to be the guinea pig here, and I like to introduce my driving experience with my colleagues here. Wish more and more forter appear among us. rolleyes.gif

Congratulation bro. Yours is 1.6?

I am interested in this: "I do heard about the case that someone have the key inside the car but still manage to lock the door from outside, and he took so much trouble to open the door again"
Maybe you can share with us how was it being locked.
*
Yea, 1.6SX.

Pertaining to the case mentioned above, I just read it in one of the forum, it just said the guy who doing the tinting with unknown cause, get the door locked with the key inside the car. It not describe in details how it happen, so it still remain as x-files.

QUOTE(phelix @ Jun 3 2010, 04:24 PM)
welcome to the family, there's many of us are the "Kia??!! bla bla bla" before, we did hard research and confident on this forte (i beg u too before buying, watching the photos on the monitor day by day, dreaming to have one), you are just 3rd day and i'm one of the early guinea pig, driving it for more than 5 months and still enjoying every single bits of it.
btw, your concern about smart key inside they still able to lock the car from outside? we tested and confirm once key inside the car the button outside will not work.
*
Hi pioneer, yes, you are right, ton of research and read a lot of reviews from the net. Also, the good comments from the pioneers make up my mind to make a choice. Regarding to the car locked as per mentioned above, the mystery case. hmm.gif I do saw a lot of test cases done by the people and post to internet, it just no way the key can get lock inside. I think that may due to key battery weak (I doubt this, as the SA told me the key battery will last for 2 years for normal use, and this car just out for half year). or maybe that guy test the key impact effect by dropped it so many time until it malfunction? or due to non-compatible alarm system? (my SA not advise me to install alarm, as happen a case that her customer locked the door with the key inside the car, and again, not sure how it happen).

The Front WS don't have tint, it's an UV Cut Glass or something, meaning the UV protection is 'built-in' to the glass. (Please correct me if i m wrong). After i put tint with TSER 47%, it's really very cool biggrin.gif

I did security tint on my side windows, they didn't take out door panel. Only pry open the top a bit and take out the rubber. biggrin.gif
*
Done my tint today for all 4 windows secure film. Same as your case, only small portion of the door cover open and to take out the rubber only. The pearl gray look cool with titanium silver Forte, but I found that is too reflective and not really match the FWS tint color. I'm use it as family car, too reflective tint just look too sporty to me. Is that norm the secure film usually is reflective?

yaya, but although 6 speeds, but top speed is still 190km/h.

The interior really looked cheap. Exterior-wise nothing much to talk about. Front is neither garang or tame, looks weird. Rear lights looks a bit like Civic and from side look a bit like BMW 5 series. But when put together only can say it's weird.

Forte is soooooooooooo much nicer lah hehe.
*
I first get to know Chevrolet Cruze is from Paul Tan website, and I'm keep on waiting it arrival to Malaysia. As it delayed the launch date previously and thus, I just go for Forte. I just got my Forte a week ago, otherwise I will have another tough choice again. hmm.gif

Based on SG Road Test review, Azfar Hashim said Cruze internal is better than Forte, but from my own opinion, by comparing the pictures, I think Forte have more elegant interior design. I think replace Cruze's textile-alike portion with soft leather will make it look much better.

One thing I like the most is Cruze 6 speeds transmission, it sure will provide much smoother transmission than Forte. I found my Forte engine sound get loud and the car feel like a bit pull-back after the auto gear move from 3rd to 4th gear (I'm not sure anyone having the similar experience here, if you does, please share). Hence, I think 4 speed auto transmission is not sufficient to provide very comfortable drive especially during the jam, the car have to stop on and off after a short distance movement.

Guys no need to hentam Cruze
its really a nice car similar to ford focus driving feel
more relaxed euro type of gearbox
most important its still a korean and we must support our bros mah!

next time we plan to have TT with Hyundai & Chev Cruze bros lo
lets keep the mutual respect and promote korean base cars ok!

Yes, I'm totally agreed with you. Undeniable Cruze is another good option as well, in fact, each car have their own characteristics, and you should pick the car that suit you the most. I'm a more practical and results oriented person, I'm not the brand-holic, as long as the car provide me safety, drive comfort and worth fr single cent of our hard earned money then is fine with me (This also the reason I choose Forte!). I do welcome more and more such good options get into our market, so few years down the road, we have more options if we wanna to change car isn't it? smile.gif

I once unlocked my car, and stand by it around 1~2 minutes without open the door, and the car lock automatically. However, I cannot simulate it for 2nd time. I try to understand the lock behavior but can't find anything from the manual. Anyone know how it work? Will the car lock itself if we forgot to lock our door after parking?

no.

in your previous case, the car will autolock when u didn't open the door after 30secs. but if you unlock for 2nd time, it won't autolock because it knows u purposely want the door unlock.
*
Oic, thank for clarification. I wonder if our car have safety feature where after we park the car, but we forgot to lock it, so will it automatically lock if it detected the key is away?

Wah lao.. which is which? Which one is better? I need to do my service very soon.. I heard that Mr.Arul went to Selayang, can the Puchong SC handle the alignment problem? How about Jln. Tandang?  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif
*
Confirmed with the staff there that Mr Arul will be the branch manager in Selayang SC after he back from India.

Puchong SC still can resolve the alignment problem, I just get it fixed just now, but you gonna prepare to wait for long hours. My case, I wait for 4 hours (yes, 4 hours! and I'm the 1st customer shakehead.gif ) for 3 reported issues:
1. Alignment and check suspension - Fixed
2. Heard of minor sound (like wooo..woo...) on 3rd and 4th gear. Sound only come when I press the accelerate pedal. - Not fix. (the invoice stated "Power Steering Suction or Return Hose R&R", I think they mistaken it with the common issue of yik-yik sound from the steering).
3. Some time rev get higher (500~1000 rpm higher) and back to norm after few seconds even I'm remain in 4th gear. - Not the issue as advised by the technician.

Cost = RM0 as under warranty.

There was the Wifi there, you may bring yr laptop to kill some time there. whistling.gif

I has been follow up this forum since v6, but I'm just a new Forte user for less than a month.

Yes, it happen to me too, I presume that is normal, during the night, the compressor do not release that much of cool air to keep the cabin remain in 25C, so we will feel not that cool. Just reduce the temp further will help.

Oic, I'm experience it once, but I'm not notice the differences of the internal and external temp, I just tot my son pressed the auto button. I then change the mode back to blow on chest, and it remain fine up to now. Moving forward will observe those behavior. (This is undocumented in user manual isn't it?)
