I'm staying in Bayan Lepas area, the only KIA service center that i am aware of is the one at sungai dua, near to Kuey Tiao T'ng.
Will be getting my car next Monday/Tuesday, waiting for my preferred number at JPJ only

For those owners in Penang island, which service center do you go to? What do you think about their service?

QUOTE(toytoy @ May 29 2010, 02:01 AM) SA not trustable wan lar, my SA told me whole NazaKia only have 1 runner. Thanks toytoy for sharing your experience. i'm Penang and can't go down to do the registration, so have to rely on them anyhow. Just hopefully by Monday she can get 1 of the 20+ numbers-of-choice that i gave her. Today is ngam-ngam 3 week from the day i pay deposit. Praying.....Damn i waited from WTN to WTX, early early asked me to give him a list of number i want, but in the end i have to go JPJ and buy myself. Some more he wanted RM450. So i went myself, JPJ list only WTX 2xx, when i went the screen showing 2xxx numbers instead of 2xx. So i though i can only choose from the screen, but the JPJ told me that screen cannot be trusted, it's true, many numbers already taken. So i gave him my list and he checked 1 by 1, i ended up buying WTX 8XX8 and it's only RM210. Skip to 8XXX number already still RM210 and not RM310. Worth it And yes the process took around 5-10 mins only, but runner wan make money so a lot of number oso they say don have wan. So never trust the JPJ list on the internet, if its showing latest number 2xxx and you wan buy 8xxx number, by the time u go there all taken already. It's best to start buying the number when they release new Letter. Say now is WTX 8xxx or 9xxx so they will release WTY soon. Once they release u straigt go buy sure got higher chance. |

QUOTE(XionCity @ May 30 2010, 12:04 AM) 1st time go on highway = AS - SP - AS. Huh? 2.9KRPM for only 110KM/H? Yesterday i got a change to drive new Altis 1.6. With 4 adult in the car, the speed was 100KM/H at 2.4K RPM only, on a flat road. used bar = 2 bars, RON95 petrol not bad...the car runs smooth, but accelerate slow(like no power O/T cars). now changed to RON97, hope gives much better performance.... 110KM/H = 2.9k RPM = 1.6SX, not bad, much better than my AE101 Correct me if i'm wrong, i thought at the same speed, if the car needs higher RPM means it consume more fuel also? I'm getting my forte very soon. |

QUOTE(phelix @ May 30 2010, 06:56 PM) it doesn't matter with how many adults in the car... Yupe, that is true. I purposely paid attention to that when driving the altis 1.6, and saved the info in my handphone, as i knew i would be getting my forte soon and would like to compare this. RPM reving high also doesn't mean 100% FC is higher than those low. however RPM is also depends on gearbox ratio settings. 2.9k RPM is normal for most of the 1.6 car, but i really doubt the altis 1.6 with 4 speed gear box can do 2.4k. Hehe, my car plate number is finally registered. Will be getting my car tomorrow |

Finally...finally, gotten my 1.6SX Bright Silver after 3 and half week from the day i paid deposit
Since i'm also speachless after driving it, so i would say the car is really Here are my observations: 1. Reset my average fuel consumption bar right after got my car, and city-drive for around 50km, the avr fuel is 8.9l/100km now, not bad i think. 2. The manufacturer's tyre pressure was 310KPa!!!!. Thanks to all the formers here, otherwise i won't purposely check the tyre pressure right after getting my car. 3. Not quite used to the keyless yet, still always put my hand into my pocket when i want to start my car, and after stopping my car, my hand always reach to the right hand side of the steering to try to get the 'key'. 4. I don't hear any sound from my chair, perhaps i am lucky. Type noise was reduced after i changed it to 210KPa. Overall i think this car is very quite already, as i drove Proton before this, so i won't care so much of the type noise. 5. Overall, i'm 100% satisfied with the car, although i'm 100% not satisfied with the SA's service. But they are different thing, so it doesn't affect my feeling when driving the car. Fetched my friends who used to have doubt on koreans' car (even myself did), and they say this is a very worthy buy and it's very spacious. A few negative (but small matters) findings: 1. There is a obvious sound, even all my passengers heard that. Whenever i drove through bumpy road/ uneven road, we heard "tik tak tik tak" sound from the boot (even passenger from back row heard it from their back, thus i'm sure it's from the boot). Anyone experienced this before? Mind to share what is loose already that i can fasten it? Anyway, this sound doesn't annoyed my i'm driving in city always and not rural roads. 2. When i turn off radio and put the aircond to slowest, i hear "tik.....................tik................" sound from bottom part of the car, not sure if any one hear this before? However this sound is easily covered when the radio is ON. 3. The headlamps do have wapor when i wash my car. |

Drove my Forte which i got 2 days ago from Penang to KL today, with 4 ppl in the car.
On a flat road, this car is as comfortable as any other Civic/Altis that i ride before, very stable. However when climbing up hills, it is really not enough Ohm. Then because of my itchy hand, i changed it to manual gear and reduce 1 gear, the RPM shot up to 4.5Krpm Drove at 140KM/h at ~3.6Krpm and the car is still very stable, i believe it can still go higher after my break in period As for noise like tyre noise, i don't really bother much as i turn on the radio. |

QUOTE(sallehsi @ Jun 20 2010, 01:38 AM) FC report updates Wow, your FC really impress me. May i know how many days it took you to reach the 655km? less than 2 week? Just re-fuel my car 44.4lit total mileage=655km..!! (hiway+state roads+hilly road+kampung road)..light and heavy footed FC average recorded at 8.1l/100 fuel type: BHP Ron95 quite impressive My 1.6sx, right after 1K service, i pumped full, then only can go for 372KM before i pump full again for 46liter. which means 12l/100KM!! I don't think i'm a heavy footer, just donno what happen to my FC. However my drive is 100% in city (with traffic jams) and short distance drive, so it took me 2 weeks to pump once. |

QUOTE(Taipan052 @ Jun 22 2010, 10:02 PM) both of u coz of the traffic jam. but if can last 2 weeks still ok.. mine always one week at least one full tank even clock moderate FC at 8.XL/100KM. travel a lot also not good for your mileage. coz it keep increasing rapidly. hahahaha.. really cannot tahan from not driving our car.. the one salleh post is for highway driving the most i believe.. maybe at least 80% highway (smooth driving) Perhaps the next time we report fuel consumption, we should put down the average speed for the trip as well. Of course we have to remember to reset the average speed every time we pump. So if the average speed is low, it's reasonable to have high FC. I forgot my average speed for my previous data of 12l/100KM. I'll take note of this the next time. By the way, i have a kelisa which i used it as city drive like how i am using my forte, and it's FC is 8.3l/100KM. So i'm paying extra RM6.6/100KM for the comfort, good feeling and safety in Forte compared to using Kelisa, which i think still worth it Added on June 25, 2010, 7:47 pm Anyone knows where i can get the above wheel cap? With my original 1.6SX rims in silver, i find black color wheel cap could provide nicer contrast This post has been edited by phil_: Jun 25 2010, 07:47 PM |

My 1.6SX does not escape from noise as well. After 3 weeks on owning it, started to hear "jit jit" sound from the front passenger seat when i'm driving alone, and when i purposely turn off the radio. However since i always turn on the radio and i always car pool with my wife, so this sound doesn't bother me.
The more obvious / annoying sound is from the front passenger door, "tik tik" sound cameout from the door even when driving on smooth road, it was so obvious that every with radio turned on we still hear it. When i open the window a little bit, the sound went away. i suspected it may due to something loosen when they open the top part of the cover to install the tint and wanted to fix it in SCenter. However the next day, the sound went away even with the window tightly closed. Not sure what happen, but hope that it won't come back again. However the problems above does not stop me from liking my car. |
