Huh? 2.9KRPM for only 110KM/H? Yesterday i got a change to drive new Altis 1.6. With 4 adult in the car, the speed was 100KM/H at 2.4K RPM only, on a flat road.
Correct me if i'm wrong, i thought at the same speed, if the car needs higher RPM means it consume more fuel also?

I'm getting my forte very soon.

1st & foremost, apologise if dis topic offended Admins/Officers or any Fortezens out there. I had the privilege of meeting members frm MyForteClub & MYFORTE (KFM) in JB & also in KL, apart frm communicatin with Fortezens frm both group in here & in KFM forum. Suma2 Fortezens ok, sgt2 ok & both group, a few times talk bout unity lar, 1 Forte etc. So,...WHY ARE WE STILL HAVIN 2 GROUPS? Can org2 kuat frm MyForteClub & org2 kuat MYFORTE (KFM) work thing out?? FYI, I joined MNKC’s TT last Friday & Izhar did pop up the question...kenapa ada 2 group?? Hmmm...aku hanya mampu tersenyum...x dpt teman nak menjawab soalan tu. I believe members are more than happy if both group can work something out for the sake of all Fortezens, rite?? Futsal, convoy & TT after futsal pastu DIY session after TT siang td is a good progress ...put aside da differences & any personal issues, dis is bout Fortezens...buang yg keruh, ambil yg jernih... Yupe, that is true. I purposely paid attention to that when driving the altis 1.6, and saved the info in my handphone, as i knew i would be getting my forte soon and would like to compare this.

I drove on highway using RON95 as i mentioned earlier,
yesterday(sunday) i tried RON97 travelled AOR-TPG-IPH-TPG-AOR
average fuel consumption is 7.1L/100km. maintain speed at 110km/h, sometimes 120 when overtake, and 80-90 at Sg2 - Juru expressway.
But the problem is, when on the way go and back from Ipoh, car carried 4 adults, 1 kid. really like powerless la...
mayb bcoz of the stock minyak from factory kut (b4 1k km service).
I juz serviced my car at 950km, hvn't tested on highway yet, muz w8..
cost is RM338 including gear oil....damn expensive la!!!
but i really hope, this time, car will hv more power, better fc than b4, smoother and more quiet ride.....well, my family was very very impress with this car, wider and bigger, but not longer than nissan grand livina, with an excellent FC(with stock factory minyak).
AOR SC is very good, the ppl there very kind, any problem ask them, they replied back very friendly matter. Service, consider very fast(compare with my old toyota SC). i really recommend the SC here....very good service. well, i asked abt my headlamps problem(local technician), they told me technicians fr. korea said is our weather problem, and they will work on it, make sure my headlamp can coup with the heat weather here(33-38C). hope this will improve their QC too.

btw, i tot altis oni got 1.8 or 2.0???

haiya, altis oni got 110bhp(if not mistaken), where forte got 124bhp...(like IAFM and CPS), yet, i dunno much bt altis engine, but i m assure u, forte engine is very quiet and very good FC. kia technician told me there's 1 customer, his forte 1.6sx can go AOR - johor in less than RM80 petrol...not sure correct or nt, bt that's wat he told me.

Today I've tested a 1.6 Forte in Malacca branch, and I'm impressed with it.Now i'm torn apart whether to go for 1.6 or 2.0. I'm just curious on 2.0 stock availability as I've read a lot of negative feedback regarding 2.0 deliveries. And any feedback for Malacca branch would be highly appreciated.

This is the 3rd day I drive my Forte. So far, other than the common alignment and vapor problems the rest is just fine, leaves me speechless consider the price I paid for the car. The car is just worth for the $. 

I drove all along the way from Rawang back to home, the car can reach 7.0l/100km in the highway (in average is 14km per liter) this is consider is very good FC! However, the fuel consumption raise on 2nd day I stuck in the jam to the office and the way back (raised to 8.6l/100km). I found some time when the car start move from the still, I have to press the pedal harder (up to 2000x/per minute rev) then the car start shift to next gear. This can be the main reason of higher FC when you were caught in the jam.

The keyless system just so cool! This is one of the must-demo-point when I show the car to my friends.  , meanwhile, this also one of my most worry part also. I do heard about the case that someone have the key inside the car but still manage to lock the door from outside, and he took so much trouble to open the door again. I also heard people installed the car alarm, and the alarm override the key detection system, thus, the car owner accidentally locked the door with his car key inside the car, and he unable to open the door from outside. Not sure if this is related to the first case.

Still a lot of my friends (and my parents friends too!)  having a doubt on Kia brand (huh? Kia ahhh....  ), they not even consider Forte as Kia is never in their radar. To be honest, I'm one of them before, until I really see it, feel it and test drive it. The elegant and stylish design and come with the plenty of the safely features (those even included in the most basic spec!), and good car handling really changed my perception on Kia brand, I can say this is one of the most important milestone for Kia to be the strong contender of Honda, Toyota and Nissan, whom dominate the C-segment car market in Malaysia all this while.  Now the only factor leave is the services of Naza. If Naza can improve their 3S in par as other famous car brand here, I can foresee more and more people will start to consider Forte and other Kia products.

So far, there are only 1 Forte in my company car park, and I'm proud to be the guinea pig here, and I like to introduce my driving experience with my colleagues here. Wish more and more forter appear among us.

Great to see MyForteClub is up and running, but not many are utilizing it. Still seeing Lowyat's Forte Club forum is much more active.

Anyway, to the admin or moderator of MyForteClub, could you start a thread on "Owner's review or story of Forte".
Would be good to share and hear from owners, their personal experience (e.g. cucuk session with others, max cruising speed, tapao).
I know from V1 to V7, there are quite a few exciting stories. But would be good that these stories can be collected under one thread and share among Fortezens and future Forte owners.

i think a lot of Fortezens will like to install the alarm if
1) the prize is reasonable,
2) use back the same remote
3) won't void warranty
4) won't have any impact to the original remote function

So to me, if good if u can "sell" ur product openly(with price or location) here or even in myforteclub & FB like what SG and Nanocoat do. All the Fortezens get the same price.

went to oldboy just now for dinner... 1st time using the member card to get my free drink and add on rm1 for wife's drink

i dun always go to puchong cause of the jams... but now at least got 1 place to head to when i go there next time... hehhehe

Me too got my 2.0SX Bright Silver today. After almost 3 months, collect her at Rawang stockyard. Arrived there around 4.30pm with my SA but can't go inside their garage, only can wait at their office. Saw two Forte SX being inspected when arrived, one is White and the other Tit Silver. Not sure its 1.6 or 2.0.

Took a peek inside the garage, saw my car already waiting for me . They bring out my car & gave me inspection checklist. Everything is ok except at rear door RH, there is no rubber moulding. They bring back inside and install it for me. Left teh stockyard around 7pm.

SA give v-kool tint voucher and RM70 petrol. Reset everthing, drive back to my home. I can't stop smilling along the way back. It is really worth waiting. I'm speechless. First day driving already hit 140km/h but I feel like 80km/h. Arrive home , 66km clock & average fc is 8.4l/100km (30% city, 70% highway). Really good fc.

Added on June 5, 2010, 1:43 pmLast week i've picked my father's new facelifted Toyota Vios. Several days after that i have a chance to drove the car for about 200km. I have to say that, that new Vios also got  minor rattling sound somewhere near the driver's door & at the centre of the dashboard. The steering also not align properly when the car moves straight. The engine & road noise are also as not well insulated as the forte (that means worst than Forte) though i accelerate gently & the car itself uses 14" tyres. So, u can conclude all these by yourself

any SC can claim for it?

yes, if still under warranty.
