by following this thread, saw alot of minor issues found in forte and has been settled timely before or during the 1st service. good job indeed for KIA (or isit NAZA?)

just wondering did the service centre in Penang offer the same level of services like what we have in KL and PJ branch? any northern region forte owner care to comment? hmm.gif

Tang, this kinrara sc, is it after the Giant Supermarket?
*
Hi,

yes, after Giant Kinrara if you coming from Bukit Jalil.

But I have just seen another post, seems like Arul is back.

Your choice.

TTDI.

Bro,

U booked 2.0 also? What color? Looks like if willing to take silver can get the car fast. But IMHO, silver is very common la... albeit easy to maintain. blush.gif

FINALLY after 114 DAYS (3 months and 25 days) of waiting. I got my 2.0 Forte Titanium Silver hehehehehehe.

Went to bank to sign loan agreement this morning and left for Rawang Stockyard around 12pm.

Dunno why today Rawang sooooooo jam and some more the stockyard only has one guy working. I left the stockyard at around 4.30pm only. CRAZYYYYYYY.

So far after inspecting the car not much problem except the car is damn dirty inside and the audio panel got one small scratch. The guy there put a report for me and they will change the panel for me. Problem is now don have stock so dunno have to wait until when. But i m ok with it as long as they agreed to change. biggrin.gif

OK so after getting the car went to petronas station to change the tyre pressure and fill up petrol. RM80 full tank so maybe got around RM5 inside biggrin.gif

Below are my findings after driving back from Rawang to PJ.

1). No squeaking sound. biggrin.gif

2). Alignment was OK for me. Tested on one stretch of road and was slanting to the left a bit. Tested on another stretch and it was straight. Will have to go and test in Parking Lot to know exact result biggrin.gif

3). The Motor Driven Power Steering (MDPS) is sweeeeeeeeeet. Very light when slow and as heavy as hydraulic when going fast (at that time around 120 - 140km/h, very responsive, so i don't think it'll be dangerous) biggrin.gif

4). The RPM is damn low. 120km/h around 2.5k rpm. 140km/h (yes 140km/h on my first drive tongue.gif) only around 3k or 3.5k rpm (can't remember). Damn, i was worried it might go over 4k rpm coz manual says breaking in period cannot go more than 4k. But i was driving like normal, the gear ratio is just nice, before 4k will change gear. So no chance to go over 4k. NICE~~~

5). Sound system was nice, treble was okok high, but i like high notes so it might be just nice for others. Bass was okok oso, not very deep but u sure can feel the bass. Sound separation of coz cannot compare to component speakers. I need to do more tweaking to suit to my taste. But overall i give 7/10 biggrin.gif

6). Tested IPOD cable on iphone and it was working perfectly. Browse through my songs perfectly and charging at the same time. SWEET!

7). Tested cruise control, working fine biggrin.gif

8). Leather seats are different from the one i saw in show room. It's with red lining biggrin.gif

That's all for now.

In short, Forte Leave me SPEECHLESS biggrin.gif

Hm... I'm surprised that you felt that the MDPS was light during slow speeds and heavy when fast, it's the opposite of most reviews and my personal experience. Having said that, after driving mum's 308T I actually feel that my Forte's steering is comparatively very, very light. I'd love to have slightly more weight at higher speeds though but I'm not complaining.

140kmh is slightly over 3K rpm... a rough guide:
60kmh - 1.4K
80kmh - 1.8K
90kmh - 2K
100kmh - 2.2-2.3K
110kmh - 2.4K
130kmh - 2.9-3K

I've never revved beyond 4K myself either, but the shifttronic will allow you to go all the way to redline. The auto mode of the Forte is tuned with fuel economy in mind so it tends to upshift very early. It isn't overly sensitive in downshifting hence it's a relaxing drive in urban areas although in spirited driving it can confuse between whether to downshift or not when slowing for corners. Still, it's so much better than the 308T's frustrating box.

The stock audio unit of the Forte is better than most of the competitors, although the bass can be too heavy at times causing the side panels to vibrate. I've noticed that the FM sound quality is pretty crap although it's more to due with the crappy radio here in Australia as it's the same with other cars that I've driven. M'sian radio stations are not that good either although I must say S'porean radio have better sound quality to my ears.

My FC is hovering about 10L/100km now... it's either the cold weather here, dirty air filter/engine oil, or due to my right foot and late upshifts tongue.gif... Almost 8K km now, still a long way to go before the 15K km service interval...
