Hmm looking to get one of those Pilot B-uhr inspired watches..

So which brand offers the best value?

Christopher Ward? ..And some of those other German brands like Stowa, MkII, Archimede, Steinhart, etc

Sinn is a bit more premium than these right?

Depends on your budget.

Laco - original maker, cheapest (Miyota), pilot strap
Steinhart - good review, value for money, big though (44mm)
Archimede - read not bad review, only got A dial (?)
Stowa - most expensive alll above, prepare to wait and paid vat, good quality, original maker
Sinn - not produciing pilot b

that's all i can think of.

thanks..

Hmm Laco doesnt seem to have much choices and yeah Stowa is most ex

I m quite interested in either Steinhart or Archimede...Steinheart is ok and cheaper but doesnt seem to have a Date model

CW is cheapest albeit no watchmaking history as the rest smile.gif

Any other brands i havent look at?

anyone knows how Archimede is priced in their Msia's authorised reseller (Watch Guild at Marc Residences), compared to online stores?

Seems that online order can be done thru SG as well (http://www.gnomonwatches.com) ...prices are in USD and bit ex if compared to the EURO site... only that shipping cost is lower and easier to deal with since its nearer smile.gif

anyone has bought archimede thru online?

I've compared price is higher form Watch Guild than their site. One thing good is you can try and view before you buy.

What bout Aristo? How is it compared to Archimede?

Hmm just noticed that Aristo is cheaper cos its mineral glass instead of sapphire crystal shakehead.gif

hahaha...i stil prefer german brand than japanese

Seiko may be becoming Lexus..but still too mass market branded

A. Lange may be the Porsche and these little known german brands may be the Opel..but still have a better image tongue.gif

i m considering between Archimede normal Pilot and the chronograph..but the chrono is like double the price

Is it worth paying double for it? Its using the Valjoux 7750 movement which is supposedly better than the Elabore/Std grade of the 2824-2 movement? Think someone mentioned that Archimede is using standard..

One is normal automatic, the other is chrono movement. Of course the price is different.
7750 is a most common chrono movement, been around for years and reliable.

On second thoughts I think i would want the Steinhart Nav B Chrono II. Its larger than the Arch at 44mm, have double rivets and day + date, and best its cheaper! smile.gif

Should I b looking at the VAT or non VAT price? Outside EU, the price should b non VAT right? Anyone has done online purchase from EU without any issues?
