QUOTE(amoxacilin @ Jul 14 2010, 12:44 AM) can the other brand fit with the watch? apparently this Tag Golf design is unique. I am unable to find other bands in that style to fit the watch. Tag make it harder as its a 19mm, old size is kinda hard to find. its interesting that U have to cut 1 end of the band to size it up to fit. Did the freq stretching damage the original band already?and the straps from www.watchbands.com , does it sell genuine replacement strap? anyway at US$200 or RM$650 they better be genuine! http://www.watchbands.com/category.aspx,,categoryID,,25 this person also experiencing the same issue. getting the right bands http://www.tagheuerblog.com/?p=250 Added on July 14, 2010, 6:09 am QUOTE(nando @ Jul 13 2010, 10:57 PM) sometimes the additional 2-3% not worth it.....my take is if you find a model you like, a shop you are comfortable with and a tauke who is not proud and friendly, go for it even if its slightly more expensive. Watch buying may not be a one off experience..... you may need to return for another one, servicing, strap changing, etc....Kuanxi is very useful... after 3 days? your relationship is certainly GOOD! Me? the shop i buy from here in PEnang dont really offer the lowest price..but i am in a position where i can return a watch and change it for a slightly cheaper model after 3 days...(yes, they will reimburse cash to me....)..so...i think that's not a bad relationship... or do U mean within 3 days? QUOTE(Erictdl @ Jul 14 2010, 03:20 PM) Dear all sifu here which is a better buy for an everyday watch among this 2: imho never Chopard Migila. get the omega. Omega seamaster (with blue luminous) price around 10k http://www.omegawatches.com/gents/seamaste.../21330424001001 Chopard around RM13K 1000 Miglia GMT Chrono 158992-3001 (black) http://www.chopard.com/#/en/classicracing/...on/158992-3001/ everyday watch sure to get scratches and dins here and there. I recommend getting a Sinn or Damasko. their case is treated and harder than Omega and Chopard more resistance to scratches, however they may not come with steel bracelet. both omega and Chopard are base off ETA 7750. some say the Omega 1164 is the best mod so far. spending ~RM$13K maybe can get a nice inhouse chrono from Zenith. or be real cheap and get a nicely build Guinand (http://www.guinand-watch.com/) and use the rest of the money to get a nice Omega on Co-Axial Escapement for weekend watch. no heartache when U get scratches on Guinand, and build quality is great, they did build Sinn in the past and maybe bell and ross too. their ETA 7750 is gold/rhodium plated with blue screws, U wouldn't find that in cheap brands like Tissot, Hamilton, Oris. U don't have to service movement on Co-Axial Escapement that often, maybe ~10yrs. the 2 models U saw need to service requires servicing every 4-5yrs. get to customize watch http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.ph...132259#poststop http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=198944 http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=419038 ![]() This post has been edited by patryn33: Jul 18 2010, 11:29 AM |

QUOTE(Erictdl @ Jul 14 2010, 03:20 PM) Dear all sifu here which is a better buy for an everyday watch among this 2: not an apples to apples comparison since the Miglia is "racing" inspired and the Seamaster is..well.. sea inspired. should be comparing it to the Speedmaster.. and I'm sure everyone will say the Speedmaster is the better buy, having reach cult watch status.Omega seamaster (with blue luminous) price around 10k http://www.omegawatches.com/gents/seamaste.../21330424001001 Chopard around RM13K 1000 Miglia GMT Chrono 158992-3001 (black) http://www.chopard.com/#/en/classicracing/...on/158992-3001/ while Chopard have in house movements, if i am not mistaken this Miglia is based off ETA. and according to this review, the Chopard's front glass is a hybrid of Sapphire on top and Mineral on bottom. checking Chopard's site kinda confirms this since there's no mention of the front crystal being Sapphire, only mention the case back is Sapphire. personally I'll pass on the Chopard. as an alternative to the Omega seamaster chrono, may I suggest the Oris TT1 Titan Chronograph http://www.oris.ch/collections/collections...=en&modelid=156 ******************************************** Went and check out the ladies watch today, the Tag Heuer Quartz Aquaracer with MOP dial is very feminine and oozes class. man the Longines with automatic movements looked like fashion pieces, not exactly suitable for everyday wear. That being said I couldn't find the Longines Conquest w/Ceramic Bezel, anybody seen one in town? ![]() |

QUOTE(patryn33 @ Jul 14 2010, 12:33 AM) lasting? I believe Tag and Victorinox is same same. so long U maintain them they last. patryn33, i search using uncle google 1, not sure whether the statement is true or not.finishing different story. Tag issue? is that on a Auto or quartz watch? I own a quartz tag for over 12yrs and I didn't find the issue. if its an auto read closely, if they didn't service it for 12+yrs that issue isn't with the watch, but its the OWNER! U can't buy a BMW and drive for 20yrs without oil change! Victorinox no genuine leather? I find it hard to believe, the cheapo I saw online do come with it. Cow's hide is cheap. I got a genuine leather from HIRSCH and it only cost me ~EUR$40, thats no where near RM800! sales person full of BS! Added on July 14, 2010, 12:34 am don't get it from TAG, get from other brands and its alot cheaper but seriously, i still dun get y we need to service a watch? lol~ im not really sure about the price of the stap. i was told by the salesgirl in WATATIME. LOL!!!after i heard that i was like *wow* wit 2 big eyes! |

Google is not involve in filtering false content.but seriously, i still dun get y we need to service a watch? lol~ why do we need to service a mechanical watch? hmm how to put it in lay man terms. mechanical parts need oil to lubricate so that they can move easily. Oil do age or dry up over time. without lubrication abrasion occur and it may wear out the parts to the breaking a teeth and causing serious damage. |
