I was think to do that to hang the watch on my spouse handbag.

pocket watches are much too big else can get the Orient pocket watch. It is mech.

nothing really special with Oris. Oris had their case and straps made in the far east.
movement wise just ETA, they are moving to use Sellita. Sellita are cheaper and is ETA clone.
They use Elabore grade and don't really modify the movement.
paying for brand and design more than anything.

I own a Oris Big Crown, just send it for service. just note if U swim with your watch, U have to return to Oris to get water resistance checked out.
They do charge quite a bit for replacing the rubber gasket on the stem of the crown. By that I meant it cost me US$100+ to get it replaced, the crown and gasket is not stocked and need to be order from Switzerland. By that the price is pretty much controlled. U should get mech watch service every 4-5yrs.

value? entry level IWC and Omega not any better than Tissot/Louis Erard/Epos.
Ball and Tag got better value in Msia? U tried pre own store? the value just as weak as the above brands.
sell private maybe better, U got fools buying them at higher price. Its like ebay today. Tons of ppl bid for the sick of bidding.

at 10-11k can get Preown rolex explorer II, ~7k can find a preown Rolex Air King
at 15K can easily find datejust, explorer I etc.. try ck77 recommended site

u cannot compare ball and longines to Omega or Rolex.
Rolex inhouse movement, hold good value
Omega mod those movement, those on co-axle do not required servicing that freq.
Ball - unmod ETA like Tissot ot Hamilton
Longines does mod it but fit and finish not as good as Omega.

If U read page 1 it explains affordability.
