hi..i'm new here....this thread is great...I previously owned a Casio Edifice and now wearing a Seiko 5 automatics..
Attached Image
I'm currently interested in a Tissot PRC200 Chronograph..
http://www.watchshop.com/mens-tissot-prc20...652-p29833.html
And i really wonder...how much could i get this in Malaysia? i am currently in Australia..i'm not sure how much they are selling this in AU but things are generally more expensive in Aus..
I also saw this watch selling at a ridiculously cheap price in Ebay...which makes me feel it might not be authentic...How do i know if a watch is authentic?

I thought they were going to be launched in September. Any details on their specifications , dimensions? The Navigator version may possibly be my next purchase.

hahaha...i stil prefer german brand than japanese

Seiko may be becoming Lexus..but still too mass market branded

A. Lange may be the Porsche and these little known german brands may be the Opel..but still have a better image  tongue.gif

I think this is pure snobbery in it's highest form

Most Swiss Watches these days use ETA movements from Swatch. Unless one is buying a watch from one of the manufacturer ( PP, Rolex etc ) you will in most Swiss watches ,have ETA below the hood.

German Cars may be perceived to be the pinnacle of automotive excellence but Lexus is not too far behind with it's superior customer service, cheaper maintenance , greater reliability & all round better value for money

I would highly recommend paying a visit to Gnomon Watches . They are located in Singapore at Shaw Towers on Beach Road. The owner , Anders has an encyclopedic knowledge of watches & would be best place to advise you on the appropriate watch.

Nothing like seeing the item first hand than making a wrong & expensive purchase on line.

I would say Malaysia is cheaper coz of tax free status and no GST.

Anyone tried removing the cyclops from their watches? Cause it's a deal breaker for me, i cant stand watches with a cyclops ruining the face.

Would love to hear if you have successfully removed it form your watches without scratching etc... and pls advice where you got it done, preferably in the klang valley..

Other than movement whats the difference between a Laco/Stowa Pilot watch and one from IWC ?
Secondly, why is it so hard to find one that is water proof with a date. Im thinking about one of about those Mark XV1's..

other than COST, IWC inhouse movement vs Stowa/Laco ETA.
finishing on case and movement. and IWC offer soft iron core for magnetic protection.
IWC has AR coating, Laco/Stowa don't think so.
IWC Mark XVI movement 30110 is made by ETA. base off ETA 2892.

there is no water proof watch. water resistance yes.
whats your budget? its not that hard.

U should be able to get a mechanical seiko or citizen or orient with that price.
mechanical watches gains/lose time over time. your budget expect it to gain or lose 10-15secs every 24hrs.
U'll need to sync. non hacking watch is hard to sync as U cannot stop the sec hand.

orient watch usa daily deals. today is at 550rm

nice Frederique constant. retail price from AD was set at US$1125. their discount is like longines... ~25-30%.
their goal is to make high quality mechanical watches at affordable prices.
