Hi Guys........

Nice to meet Bro Ura ,Randy, Kim & Buaya this afternoon.

My son & niece are so excited as this is their 1st time seeing 'live' fighting spiders fighting in front of them.

I've to say that Bro Ura has so much knowlegde on fighting spiders.

Bro Randy got some very big good fighting spider.

Both Bro Kim & Buaya are really expert in catching fighting spiders.

I'm need to refresh myself in how to catch & keep all these fighting spiders.

Waiting for the next meeting to catch some 'bigger' size fighting spiders.

Thanks to all bros for turning this afternoon into such a wonderful event.

Regards
Bro Teochew Lao/Edmund

Hi Bro Teochew Lao

Nice to see such FS dedication. Very nice containers and can see much thought put into them.

For the leaves (FS home) , I used 2 money plant leaves and bind the stems of the leaves with a facial cotton wool and rubberband, I spray water on the cotton wool and wrap the wet cotton wool with aluminium foil. This would last me easily 1-2 weeks without any maintenance. For FS longevity, I believe Bro Ura's "mini fan method" ....placing the FS containers with an electric fan nearby makes a lot of differences.

Best of luck in your hunt and fight. In the 6 months of active FS hunting, fighting and uploading videos, I have fulfilled all of my childhood FS fantasies.

Even though I am taking a break from FS hunting and fighting, I would periodically update myself in this wonderful forum.

Hi Randy ,it's a habit start from young. Love to innovate, build & improvise things..... biggrin.gif
Please don't break too long,haha....... biggrin.gif

I'm glad my son love to see & feel the FS.

On the catching part, feel a bit paiseh in the field/always feel what other might wonder why this old man is
pushing all the plants & bushes around.
I sugguest to Ura that we wear some 'National Geographic shirts or uniform' so it make all look
really natural while we are in the field catching FS....haha tongue.gif

Still hoping to land on a big FS in the near future/briing back those old primary school memories........... drool.gif

Hi Bro Teochew Lao

Ha Ha...don have to feel paiseh.

In the last 6 months, I used to have about at least one lunch time hunt per week in my smartest office wear. I simply remove my tie and hunt and I have a small hard brush to brush off the dirt/grass that may have remained on my "batu" shoe.

Passer-by have often stopped and asked. My reply would normally be that I am catching FS to educate my 9 year old son. On one occasion, I was inside a drain and the police car stopped to take down my particulars too. No problem as I am afterall the exspiderking biggrin.gif

Hi Bro Randy,

Wow, inside drain, that's really serious catching............

This morning alamak let 2 spider fight before feeding/unfortunately never take any video. cry.gif

1 of the spider 'Skiney' fought with another called 'Blackie'(All SL size)
Skiney is a very good fighter while Blackie is a 'SubPow'
Skiney chop with Blackie at least 7x and finally Skiney bite 1 of Blackie claw refusing to let go.
Blackie at this time seem to be seriously injured & can see liquid flowing out........
When Skiney let go of Blackie claw , Blackie is almost motionless......
And just when you thought Skiney is moving away,he did a small turn/came back and
bite Blackie abdomen carrying it away.

Here are the picture.....Skiney biting on Blackie..... shocking.gif Attached Image

Answers & Reply to Bro Mindstorm

Cool! Are you in the acrylic business?
No i'm not ,I got contractors to do it.

How much did you make them for?
S$100+@

You use which thickness of acrylic?
5mm

I can't estimate how big the holes are from the pics......
2mm in diameter- laser drilled

May i ask where you place the rack?
In the living room at middle height of wall

*The sliding door is right in front ,so just slide up to take care of plant +
feeding of spiders also very easy, just drop crickets near leaf and they'll plunge for it.......

Hi Randy,

Thks for the joint-hunting again this saturday morning.
It's a poor and wet morning hunt partly due to the earlier downpour on friday.

To makeup for that poor morning ,I went to Nir#### in the afternoon to continue
hunting & met up with brother Buaya/Kim/Ken/ah seng & vincent.
It's always exciting to see veteran bro Buaya & Kim hunting as they show so much
experience in hunting. We had a nice gathering & some FS fighting and had lots of fun.

Today while SMSing bro Buaya, he invited me over to Nir#### again in the afternoon.
This time round, bro Kim/ah seng & vincent were also around.
We had some FS fights with some newly caught & old FS.(No video taken) blush.gif
We played around with some subpow & had some really good fights.

After the FS fights we continued hunting,at around 5+pm I walked to a area where bro
buaya had 'combed' before ,thinking having not much of a chance as it's been searched earlier
by bro buaya. But to my surprised, when i flip on 2 pieces of nicely covered leafs gently,
I saw two male FS trying to start a fight.I shouted quickly to bro Buaya & he came over
helping me to cut the leafs and bring them to the walkway.
After opening up the leafs 1 FS escape but luckily the bigger 1 was still around.
Immediately we used this newly caught to battle against another smaller sized FS,
this newly bigger caught FS showed great strength with good 'Kompung' and won the fight with ease.

To test the newly good caught FS ( Currently Named 'Blue Fox' ) furthermore,
we made it fight with a same sized FS type 'Subpow' belonging to bro Vincent.
Another exciting fight with no videos taken blush.gif
FS Blue Fox resisted at least 3 -4 chops by the 'Subpow' before winning the fight.
FS Blue Fox has great potential and should be my 1st king now.

My current team:-

(1) Blue Fox
(2) Silver(Had great fight with Blue Fox & lost recently)
(3) Toto
(4) M1

Will try my best to meet up with our fellow FS bros next Tuesday.

hi bro edmund,

a team catching fs, awesome. I envy u guys in a way because there's no point having fs without kakis  shakehead.gif (i mean a group, currently only me, bro mindstorm and bro viper are the only kakis in KL) i hope to have the same hunting experience like u guys (in a team) kudos to sg team  thumbup.gif

Hi Bro leejason,

I think it's easier to gather here in Singapore as we are a small island.
KL itself is so big and we envy u guys for having so many hunting grounds.
I hope the sg team can organise and join you guys in KL on a hunting trip together.

Yours sincerely

After work, hunted at Mand## and caught a good sized ML (close to spot where Rembrandt caught). He shall be called Mentor.. As I was driving home, spotted an XL sized wild boar. Yes, I just spotted a super long cobra yesterday but did not capture it on my camera phone. This time just barely managed to have this very large wild boar video-ed. He or she did struggle at the railing but rest assure that it was not hurt and finally ran off into the woods. So manda# has giant snake..giant wild boar and I hope to see and catch an XL sized FS. tongue.gif

Sorry about the poor quality of the wild boar video. I don't know where my phone cable is and I use cam-corder to record the already poor quality video from my phone. Here's the video:-

Wild Boar in Mandai (16/05/11)

Hi Bro Randy,

I have been staying here in the west & drove past mandai many times but never had the chance to see things like snake or even wild boar shocking.gif
You are very blessed that beside hunting FS, you also get the bonus to see snake & wild boar. rclxms.gif
The encountered animals are getting bigger & bigger every @ time, please don't come back with leopard/tiger or lion video the next time round...... brows.gif

With regards to Nirv###,it's sad to know that all the plants are being cutted off so badly.

Looks like exploring new spots in SG is necessary as we've lost a great meeting & hunting ground. mad.gif

Yours Sincerely
edmund

Yo Bro Trevally, Long Time No See!! Yeah i am trying my Best to rear all these Slings nowadays.. Do you know that all these T.Sub Slings actually grow faster than they are in HK?? I think it must be due to the Humid Weather in SG, everything seems to be speeding up. It was becos when i compared my documented dates with Bro Xarms, it was always mine seems to take lesser time. And he told me it will take around 8~9 months there for a Sling to reach its Full Adult stage.. So maybe in SG, it will only take 6 months..? Well.. we will see how long it takes.. smile.gif

I got a Sling named BB02, it was hatched on the 2nd May, moulted its 1st time on the 9th May and today 11+am it moulted the 2nd time, i was so LUCKY to have witnessed the whole process and videoed the whole thing. But it was not very clear, i will get a even Better Camera soon! Before it actually started to moult, the Sling looked as if it was dying, i was so worried. Just like a FS who gets slow and gradually not moving and just RIP there. So i actually left it alone, hoping it'll recover by itself and then i tried to attend to BB03 first. But still very worried and glanced back after few seconds, then now i confirmed it was just starting its moulting process as i once witnessed this back in late 2009. But that time the moulting process already began for quite sometime.

So here's the Video, not very Clear though but i think this should be the First Ever FS Moulting Process Video in this Forum.. biggrin.gif

T.Sub Sling 猫BB02's Moulting Process ~ 21st May 2011

Wow Bro Ura

Very interesting to see the moulting process + japanese song........
Let us see when the Sling reaches adult stage.
Can't wait to see how these HK spiders fight with our local fighting spiders.

This morning I woke up early and actually wanted to rest as it rained last night and the leaves would be wet...not good for hunt. As I was munching on my scones....just felt like hunting FS again. Well took my BMX and fit into the back seat and off I go to Nirvana. Yes the place is totally gone. I cycled from Nirvana to NTU (along the pavement) stopping along the way to flip the leaves and was rewarded with 6 males. Brought home 4 and yet to test them and at most 2 are SL sized.

Came home tired, dirty but happy as have FS to try.

Tomorrow I will be meeting Bro Ricky and Bro Buaya and will fight at 0730 at Nirvana. Fellow FS Bros, please feel free to come and join.

Hi Randy,
You are really a die-hard hunter for FS.
Maybe we should film a show on how you hunt FS in Singapore/Malaysia and air it in National Geographic Channel. brows.gif
Anyway your 'Mentor' is really a fierce 'Subpow".
Sorry tomorrow won't be able to join you guys.

(3) Love
(4) Rudge

Coincidentially, all of my Fs are from different parts of SG. Macho Man from Jalan Bahar, Mentor with Mandai, Love is a gift from Bro Ura and Rudge is a gift from Bro Ricky. Anyway, I heard that our fellow FS Bros had a successful hunt in Chan##. Please do enlighten me about your hunt as I could not join you guys.

Your Exspiderking

Randy
Hi bro Randy, yah today we had a great hunt in Chan## with Bro Buaya,Kim,Ricky,Vincent & Seng + myself. rclxms.gif

I was there late and by the time I reached there,Veteran Kim & Buaya had already caught 1 full bag of FS. thumbup.gif

Chan## has different leaves from Nirvana ,they are much smaller & much more difficult to spot a wandering FS. hmm.gif

Bro Ricky caught & shows me a FS hiding in between 2 leaves when suddenly he threw the leaves away,he told me there's centipede inside the leaves,
luckily he managed to recover the FS(quite a good size almost ML).Bro Ricky gave me this FS which I happily name 'Centipede'. biggrin.gif

Bro kim also gave me a good size (should be ML) which I name it 'BlueFox' . Bluefox won my Silver easily..........Bluefox is much bigger than Silver. smile.gif

At around 5pm + it was so exciting to see more FS wandering around, during this time it's more like 'picking' than catching FS....haha thumbup.gif

Around 5.45pm we called it a quit as it's getting dark & everyone was quite tired.

I'm very happy to hunt today & managed to form a new team for my FS;

BlueFox
Centipede
Diablo
Cobra

All quite good size & should be of confirm ML after some feeding but don't know which FS is stronger because they're new
and still under feeding & training. blink.gif
