Thanks, Ura for the video and the pictures. Yes, I am quite interested in T.Sub for a simple reason - they are larger size.

It has been reported that in earlier posts that T.Sub females have been caught in Singapore. Just feel a bit strange that there are no reported cases of males being caught. But then, it does not mean that there are no male T.Sub males in Singapore.

Looking at previous posts, actually there are some quite big T.Bha caught in Singapore/Malaysia. e.g. Royale, Titan, Rakassa and Sapphire.

Thanks Ura. But unlike T.Sub and T.Bha, T.Red is a term coined in this forum. It is not an official spider species. Correct me if I were wrong.

As at today, the biggest T-Bha is Tempest, body length of 8.7mm. On the other hand, you have advised and I agree that measuring T.Sub by body length is not a good measurement because the main difference between these two species is its arm length. And yet, it is extremely difficult to measure by arms length.

Yes another Body Part which is of Utmost Importance is the Head.. not just the Width.. the Head Length is also very Important.. most Huge T.Bha Males we ever caught in SG/Msia i realised their Head Length hardly exceed 3mm.. while many T.Sub Males reach 3.5mm to 4mm.. plus their really really Long&Thick Arms that makes the Whole FS looks so Gigantic..
Yes, head length is easier to measure. Talking about head length, it reminds me of your L7. Its fighting stance is unique, head out. I have seen a picture of India T.Bha. The head is "huge" but the arms are short.

I remember winning an auction by paying $50 for a king spider in my school, with the agreed 5 installment still being paid after the fs pass away lol.

hi Bro John,

You have done a great deal in narrating all the fights, it really add more will to watch that particular video narrated. I apologise if i have created unpleasant feeling within you through my comment earlier and hope you will still find enjoyment in narrating and watching the fights  smile.gif , who knows u will one day perhaps come out of retirement to find bigger joy in the arena itself.

p/s : try get second opinion from internet or trusted source for your doubts/questions for better digestion, a half cook food which contradict with the recipe will ache your stomach let alone the source of recipe is without prove of health issue...
cheers,
Jason
Hi Jason, $50 that's hell lots of $$ drool.gif at that time, M$50 = S$50 then!!

Thanks for the advice. The other day I went to Trevally's spider blog. Enjoy
1. the different types of spiders. that's basically how we classify spiders in Singapore by the colour stripes in the abdomen
2. the different ways of catching spiders. to me, the big plastic bag and scissor method is still the most effective
3. the containers to house spiders. Now, spiders live in a palace
4. the fight involving Yuda's BIG spider. On the youtube, that spider really looks huge. Wondering what is its size.

I also found out that T.Bha is a very common spider species in Asia (from India to China). Yesterday, I asked my Myanmar (Burmese) friend whether he ever catch spiders in his kids' days. He said, "no". When I showed him our forum and some pictures of T.Bha, he told me he has never seen such spiders before. The strange thing is that he lived in the village/countryside. Will ask around other nationalities.

Hi John, oh haha my name is John as well tongue.gif

Thanks for visiting my spider blog. Its histroy and I've not update it for very long time. I'm gald that I wrote the blog as it serves as a wonderful memories of those good times wtih the kakis.

You mean this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHEVJpNvNrM...player_embedded ? Yes, at that time Yuda spiders clamied to be the biggest. It should be L size and most of us only managed to get M to SL size till Ken25 intro us to NTU  tongue.gif

Hi twin John biggrin.gif

Yes, it is that spider. Another video is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvRGWdtncWg&feature=related. It can be misleading because one is small/the other big. But look at the length of that FS's arms.

Actually, I also enjoy rearing tropical fishes like you. So we are twins. tongue.gif

Hi Everyone

It is nice to hear from Bro Jong again and yes, peace, friendship and love. rclxms.gif

I have also asked about Fs from oversea friends and the caretaker of the villa in Bintan Island, Indonesia never heard about FS too. Did also ask a Thai friend and he never seen it though some kids in the kampung in the southern part of Thailand were spotted playing with them (he told me one).

$50.00 for a spider?????  Actually I would have done the same..... biggrin.gif
So it does appear that T.Bha FS hobby/game/sport is not very popular elsewhere.

Something in my mind which I always wanted to ask. All of us will agree that T.Bha lives in many kinds of leaves. But how's about pineapple leaves, rose leaves, sugar cane leaves, water lily leaves, orchid leaves? Caught/seen T.Bha on such leaves? brows.gif

1. Randy's Patrick Tse (Bottom) V Ricky's Chow Yun Fat (Top) 150212
Good to see that Ricky is back with new acquisitions. Hopefully, he did not pay $50 to acquire them. CYF (Fatt? or deliberate Fat) looks fatter. But Patrick is fiercer.

2. Ricky's Immortal Ku2 (Top) V Vincent's Master Bed (Bottom) 150212
What strange names?? Is Vincent's spider name spelled wrongly? cool2.gif Good fight.

3. Rudy's HK2 (Right) V Randy's Putra (Left) 150212
Two not so new and not so old spiders. Worth a look.

4. Ricky's Freeze (Top) V Rudy's HK2 (Bottom) 150212
Good to see old bird Freeze back in action. And still in form. Great fight.

5. Ricky's Freeze (Right) V Rudy's Dragon (Left) 150212
And continue its form rclxms.gif

6. Ricky's CaoSheet (Top) V Rudy's HK1 (Bottom) 150212
Hmm, no fight? CaoSheet walks and then HK1 runs.

7. Rudy's HK3 (Right) V Ricky's Caosheet (Left) 150212
Great fight.

8. Ricky's Immortal Ku2 (Right) V Rudy's HK3 (Left) 150212 (Recommended: )
An even greater fight. From highland to lowland.

9. Randy's Patrick tse (Bottom) V Rudy's Red Devil (Top) 150212
Here's come Favorite Red Devil. What a funny video. Red Devil wants to engage Patrick but in the end, also gave up.

10. Randy's Patrick Tse (Bottom) V Ricky's Freeze (Top) 150212 (Recommended: )
A newbie vs an oldie. Great fight.

11. Ah Kim's APeno (Top) V Randy's Patrick Tse (Bottom) 150212
Here's come the huge spider, APeno. He is fierce. Decided to grasp Patrick for a fight.

12. Ricky's Immortal Ku2 (Right) V Ah Kim's APeno (Left) 150212 (Recommended: )
Immortal is fierce. APeno pushes hard. Immortal blocks well. Think APeno was bitten.

Looks like Ricky's spider is back in action. He must have been missing himself from this forum to build up his new team.
But then, the same old question, why not SoD vs Immortal to round off everything? hmm.gif
The same answer? Need to rush off? laugh.gif
Anyway, the usual, thanks to Randy for posting all these exciting fights. rclxms.gif

For me, it is very simple.
1. Too big
2. Too eerie
3. In my country of Singapore, wondering where to find such spiders

Hi 1-Piece and Red Devil, I mean the owner of 1-Piece and Red Devil, two of my current 5 high-ranking spiders (but I think this list has to be changed soon) ....
Oop, sorry, Hi Rudy, thanks. what shall I say? I think everyone will agree that Live commentary is best by Randy. For me, I am just an armchair spectator, hopefully a neutral one. Not into FS catching, just like to watch and ask questions.

And yes, hopefully the fire is contained. Looks like it is now. or for now.

Bro Randy is our video man very much thanks to him... Hehe one more missing is live commenary can be u, I also think every one agree with this too Haha!!!

Yap my two worrier has done their duty well n time
to say gd bye soon 

You see, spiders got ears. If there is live commentary, they will just listen like Red Devil, open and close its arms constantly with no fighting.
You letting go these two oldies? You mean you going back to Malaysia to put back Red Devil? Just kidding lah.
Should be good. Let them retire in peace, instead of with one arm/death. Thanks. notworthy.gif

Hi Everyone

Pineapple leaves and sugar leaves:- Yes, seen FS on them in my December 2010 Triang Pahang trip. Saw FS on suagr cane in my Ipoh trip.

Rose leaves:- Our local rose plant leaves are rather small & thrive in open sunlight. The Ang Mo rose plant leaves bigger. PLaces where I hunt does not have rose plant...so not seen FS on local rose plant leaf.

Water Lily:- Yes, botanical gardens.

Pineapple:- Very tuff leaves but seen FS in pineapple leaf walking but din see any nest.

Cactus:- Many different type of cactus....places where I hunt don have cactus. Don't intend to go to desert to hunt... tongue.gif

Orchid leaves:- Think BTL got photos on FS on Orchid leaves.

Yes, Bro Jason, Wasabi appears strong and beat Commando .....don't think Sword of Damocles would be in captivity for too long and by then I should have another Fs to give Wasabi a good fight and team to mount a credible challenge.

Your Exspiderking

Randy

Wow, Randy, you are definitely into leaves too. Thank you. notworthy.gif
SoD is relatively new. And very healthy. Is it because it has turned chopster recently which make you worried?

To Jason, I agree with Randy that your Wasabi is a good fighter. It is long (I mean the body length and arms). What is this body length? 7.5mm?

Hi John... What u mean by armchair? Ur arm lock at chair or ur arm been handcuff.... but u still can walk rite 

Do u play fs last time when u were young? How u take care of ur fs? How big u caught?Any secret spot to share?   if u don mine answer it...
Hi Rudy, according to www.dictionary.com,

arm·chair
noun
1. a chair with sidepieces or arms to support a person's forearms or elbows.

Adadjective
2. theorizing without the benefit of practical experience: an armchair football coach.
3. participating or experiencing indirectly or vicariously: an armchair traveler.

So I sit on a chair which has arms to support my forearms/elbows and watch the FS videos without any direct/real experience in the videos.

Latest whereby I caught FS and saw a real spider was 20 yrs old when I was in the army. That's 27 yrs ago.
When I was young, I put them into matchboxes or cassette tape boxes.
How big? I saw BIG BIG T-Bha/T-Sub during my jungle army training in Brunei jungles. That's why I am very interested in T-Sub species.
When I was young, I stayed in Marsiling, My favorite spot is those secondary jungle behind the Muslim mosque. But I think that the area is fenced up now.

How's about a fight between your two top FS - 1-Piece vs Red Devil?

Hi Rudy

Temburong if I remember correctly. How big? Maybe the size of Singapore ten-cent coin. After I have seen a number of T.Sub pictures now (thks to Ura), the Brunei jungle spiders look more like T.Sub because I remembered they fold their long arms like your Red Devil. I saw 4 such FSes twice in the jungles. The first time, one was sitting on the big yam leave. The second time at another location further down the hill, I wanted to cut two yam leaves to sit on them (one for me and one for my buddy) while harbouring (I believe you know this NS term) without realizing that there is exactly a nest. When I took the first yam leave, three such FSes are here on the other big yam leave.

Why did not bring one/two back? Possibly no interest in FS then. Possibly I was there as a trainee and did not want to get any unnecessary scolding.

Thanks for the invitation. I decline. biggrin.gif

Last time when u young, how long u stick to this hobby? from kindgarten to sec 1. but interest in FS is short: 2-3 weeks, especially during the school holidays in December

Got any great story to share again here? a one-arm FS went into my right ear during Pri 1. I was watching a fight between this one-arm and another FS. And it jumped to my shoulder and went quickly into my ear. Up to today, I wonder what happened to it.

Yes, Randy, nice name.

Wow. A potential champion by the name of Sammo Hung to beat Wong Fei Huang, Immortal Ku2 and draw with Red Devil. Think that many FSes afraid to have direct fight with Red Devil because as what the owner claimed, it is a "Bu".

A good fight by 1 Piece.

From http://salticidae.org/salticid/diagnost/thiania/bhamoens.htm
T.Bha are found in Andaman Is.; China; Indonesia: Sumatra; Myanmar; Singapore; Vietnam. Hmm, HK in China?

From http://salticidae.org/salticid/diagnost/thiania/subopres.htm
Thiania subopressa are found in China and Vietnam.

From Tioman, Malaysia. Looks like T.Bha. It is known as "MAL-3-1 - Thiania possibly demissa". http://salticidae.org/salticid/diagnost/ph...ya/sh-malay.htm
