PhD holders automatically get senior lecturer status when they start. but i thought senior lecturers earn more than 6.5k.. dunno la

but MMU is an IPTS. It was part of the governments response to the Uni rankings a few years back when none of the malaysian unis were in the world top 200.

They started this scheme for the IPTAs where all lecturers had to be moving towards a PhD and new lecturers with PhD automatically get Senior Lecturer position.

Nope! my dad is a.p., he tried to convince me to do my PhD and become a lecturer. So he gave me all those figures la haha

But then again, each person is different. It might suit you perfectly.
Forget about the pay first and decide whether you would enjoy it. If you think you will, you have 6 years of being a student ahead of you. the "gaji" you mentioned should just consider allowance
