I'm not a DJ per say but am producing and tracking tunes for a Canadian Progressive Trance record company and also producing tunes for our local DJ's as well.

Recently purchased an Access Virus Ti Desktop TI. A highly sort after equipment i have been looking into.

For EDM producers, the sound is amazing and this is one beauty to behold.

From Gareth Emery, PVD, Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond etc..these top EDM producers uses Access Virus exclusively.

Sorry for the blur picture.

Very nice synth!
Whats your fav osc pattern?
*
Well, i recently purchased it like 2 days ago hence i have not dive into those OSC yet. I reckon the Hypersaw in the OSC is good but still need loads of time to learn and make full use of those filters. OSC etc. Btw.

Waldorf Largo is very useful for EDM too.

Cheers

It's more for music production purpose for Movie soundtracks, Dance music etc. The turntable units will help you to develop your DJ skills but many are going into music production as they can produce their own EDM and spin their tunes in clubs.

Wow..that's a long time ago. Current bass is G&L 2500L. Great bass tone.

I'm using Logic Pro 8 & 9. Was using Logic (which was called Emagic) since version 2.0 back in those early days. Will be getting Albeton soon if my cash flow permits.

Hope to see catch up with you mate. Do PM me your number and we can hangout at mamak after the event if we're not to tired.

A DJ is a DJ but if he or she decides to pick up music arrangement or music production, then he's more knowledgable in what the audience wants to hear and he can then decide to make his/her own tunes to chater to the audience.

I'm a music arranger/producer but ain't no DJ. But i'm learning what famous DJ producers produces in thier studio hence i can make tunes for our local/overseas DJ to play in their set.

hahaha vince very funny.

im not sarcastic towards newbies, just those "turntablist" who think they so pro can talk bad abt others. Look in the mirror, where are you now?
*
I reckon current new DJ's did not go thru the things most hardworking DJ's goes thru back in the early days. It was tough to be a DJ in our local clubs unless you have the upper hand skills.

Anyway, whoever thinks they are good or a pro but with a lousy attitude, they will never go far. I know Jungle Jerry personally and man, he has such good attitude, humble and even tho he's well known as an MOS DJ, he does not brag about his Djing skills. He even show me a thing or 2.

LanEVOchris, maybe you need to help educate them new blood well and yes, new DJ's bad mouthing others is not welcome and should not do that. Why bad mouth others when you can place your attention to improving your DJing skills right?

Good to finally meet up with you and hope to meet up again soon on the next upcoming event. Met up with Fono as well.

Anyway, Above & Beyond was great but the sound system was unsatisfactory. There's one point where the speakers were cracking badly and overall sound did not do justice to A&B even tho they did an awesome work on stage. The highs were overpowering and piercing and the mids were missing. Well, still a good event but could be better in sound wise.

Cheers

Finally, another budding producer here biggrin.gif
Heard a lot of good stuffs about the ti (after jp8k era) but haven't seen one in person before... well, not to mention the lack of pro stuffs in msia.

Where you at bro?
*
I'm from PJ and very true that we don't have much pro equipments in our local music store. Mostly common instruments like roland, korg, yamaha etc. I guess pro equipments are not in demand as many are turned off due to it's high pricing.

Anyway, i manage to get the Virus TI from one of the local Access distributors and happen to know the boss. So i got it pretty quick within 3 days instead of having to import from Germany which will take 2 weeks.

eh... really there is a local distributor here... well, guess i didn't look hard enough. those regular stores doesn't carry em. only saw junos and sh-201s. i'd like to try my fingers on those  brows.gif poisonous knobs... hehe...

you got a myspace or anything? i'd like to check out your stuffs. mine's myspace.com/lengmusic
*
They have a local Access distributors named "Daxco Digital" in Damansara Intan but they don't have the hardwares. Their main HQ is in S'pore where most of the hardwares are stored.

I don't have myspace but we do have a page on facebook. Search for TRIMIX. We have some tracks up and also we had 3 of our tracks signed under a Canadian record company called Omerta records.

oh... just a laptop, going all vsti's smile.gif
was trying to confuse you guys with the luxurious word "rig"... hahaha. the most expensive stuff i bought is the krk rp6 g2's.
*
Going all VST is good as the current vsti's are sounding very very good. Just that, current vsti's are CPU hungry and some are not. I bought Waldorf Largo via Waldorf online site and it's one hungry CPU cruncher even on a MacPro.

The Yamaha HS80M was pretty cheap at the time when i bought it but the Virus was one of my dream machine since 10 years ago. Was a hard decision to even buy the Virus TI because loads of VSTi are sounding pretty awesome.

What kinda machines were you mentioning?
*
Machine = Hardware Instruments.

The Access Virus. It's the holygrail music machine for EDM producers back then till today.

Heaps of music producers are using Access Virus instruments like:

Armin Van Buuren
Sean Tyres
Scooter
Giuseppe Ottaviani
Paul Van Dyk
Gareth Emery
Ferry Corsten
Prodigy
BT
Above & Beyond
Chemical Brothers
Deadmau5
ATB
Tiësto and lot's more.

Plus, there's more chioce music instruments in the market now which produces great sounds as well like Mopho, Tetra, Prophet 8, Evolver, Andromeda, Moog, Solaris etc.

Icic..so its mainly for EDM only? Is it only for producing?
*
It can be used for many genres of music and not only EDM. Hiphop, pop rock, pop celebrities/producers are using them and check out the list of Acess Virus users:

http://www.virusti.com/page/render/lang/en...ll_Of_Fame.html

And yes, it's mainly for producing purposes.

*
Those are Hall of famers. I'm nobody..hahaha. Anyway, as promise, here's are some sounds of the Access Virus from stabs, leads, bass accept the pads, guitar and drums.

Ya i am still very new to the Trance scene like 1 1/2 months ago and have heaps of stuff to learn.

Was just fooling around the Virus in the afternoon and as per your request, i just came up with the little demo. All bantai only and not really sequncing it as a song.

Your stuff is really cool dude. Very progressive. Love the bass and groove but i reckon you may need a melody hookline to run with the groove.

Also, you may need to work on your sound and getting them fat and solid.

These are just my opinion and hope you don't mind me commenting mate.

Anyway, i'm going offline for some online PS3 gaming. Will chat soon mate.
