QUOTE(andrekua @ Jun 3 2010, 12:21 AM) I dont think so. It depends on how desperate they were. When I apply for Citibank card few years back, they only give me 1.5x of what HSBC is offering. When I applied for SCB Platinum with my 13k Citibank gold card, I was given two Plat with 43k limit which still remain 43k after I cancel one them which I didnt apply for. SCB the best.. the rebate is just 0.5% (so so) but instantly credited. They also give me RM100 which is more than enough to offset 2 years of GST. You even get points ontop of the rebate which is similar to Alliance Bank Younique. u mean u just apply for SCB credit card? been approach by those salesman and they said they will give out rebate RM50 for classic and RM100 for platinum if i'm not mistaken so far for foreign bank, only UOB and SCB absorb the RM50 government tax |

QUOTE(TatianaB @ Jun 7 2010, 02:56 AM) Hi guys, I have a quick question. may i know which credit card are u applying? So I finally decided to apply for credit card from several banks, but I am not sure if it's wise because they mention that the RM50 tax will be incurred on the first cycle of bill. So right now I'll be applying for credit cards from 4 different banks just to increase the odds of approval. My question is, will I be allowed to turn down the credit card offer, just in case? Thanks. |

QUOTE(TatianaB @ Jun 7 2010, 10:42 AM) Hi guys, thanks again for the replies. I'm thinking of applying classic master card from AmBank, RHB, CIMB or HSBC. Don't know which of these are more lenient in terms of application approval, but since I'm kind of in a rush to get a credit card (for some purposes), it has to be done by the end of next week. Any advice? in your list, HSBC CC is not easily to obtain |

QUOTE(mcthe3 @ Jun 9 2010, 06:50 PM) I would like to ask about the tiered finance charge. My card will reach its 1st 12 months in a couple of months. I have made prompt payment (more than the monthly minimum) every month. So lets say I continue to do so until the 12th month, I will be eligible for Tier I, 13.5% pa, for the next 12 months. a calculation is correctWhat I would like to know as I am unsure, is how this finance tier thing works. Is it: a) 13.5% / 12 months = 1.125% - for the next 12 months, my outstanding balance will be charged a monthly interest of 1.125% OR b) 13.5% on the outstanding balance of the 12th month. Example: After the 12th month, I still have rm1000 outstanding balance. So the next month, this Rm1k will be charged 13.5% (RM1000 x 13.5%)... Rm135. Thanks in advance. |

QUOTE(staggerler @ Jun 10 2010, 10:24 PM) my credit card had been stoleh..and sadly i had 3 dispute transaction by unknown person..can the 3 illegal transaction be withdrawl from my bill since it is not my transaction... my dad suffered the same thing, that particular day got a few fraud transaction happened in Penang, and coincidence my dad used Maybank CC to swipe for petrol, only a few hours difference, and it manage to prove that my dad really in Johor and not in Penangany experience? my mum got a shock when she saw extra RM1k+ in the statement, argue with maybank and they pay up for the extra RM1k with all the receipts given, and found out the tourist company is the culprit, that time credit card still don't have smart chip but from this case i can judge that Maybank credit card fraud centre really sucks |

QUOTE(niel @ Jun 18 2010, 07:44 PM) alright, back to credit card. since CL is a big debate here. no wonder my friend could get 60k credit limit for his HSBC CCfor hsbc premier customer, if there's no income document provided, you will get 30k or 40k even though you have way more than the required minimum balance to be their premier customer. |

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Jul 1 2010, 06:56 PM) I think that's very typical of Alliance Bank. When i closed my savings account a while ago, they insisted that there is a service charge of RM10 no matter how long i've been using the account despite the fact that in their website it is clearly written there is no charge if i close the savings account after 3 months from opening. I suspect the staff attending to him is just like many other Alliance Bank staffs that do not know their own product offerings well. might as well let the account rot there if u doesn't need to useDoes that mean Public Bank will ask you to pay for the stamp duty ? Because when i applied for a secured credit card from HSBC last year, i did not have to pay anything at all Alliance bank deserve their low ranking among other bank thanks to their lousy service |
