i approached the citibank salesman in Penang Queensbay mall and asked about the new plat cash back card. They are not very sure whether existing citibank credit card customers can get the RM60 cash back when their plat cash back card is approved. It sounds like they need clarification from Citibank HQ

Existing Citibank cc customers would not be entitled to the RM60 rebate. It is written in the T&C which Citibank send to their customers via e-mail.

better terminate the current citibank credit card and re-apply

Sounds like a good card but cant get RM60 rebate if you are their current credit card holder, furthermore you gotta sign up for their autodebit sad.gif

hmm , cancel all the credit card since the rm 50 tax imposed . Why pay the government for a lousy reply on the tax imposed . Using debit card now . Save 50 bucks . Hehe .

yes..terminate the credit card before they charge the service tax. At the same time try to apply for new credit cards which gives rebate/free points to waive the service tax. That's they way to go nowaday. rclxms.gif

At last they entertain you by calling them to waive the AF, but not for citibank.

almost all banks will waive the annual fee if you call them...except MBF (as mentioned by someone here before)

I had to cancel my Citibank Giant card because the bank refused to waive annual fee.
Although I used the card very often, the bank further demanded an utility auto debit instruction. I had nothing to auto-debit already.
*
in that case just get a bill under the autodebit program...and later call them to stop it after the annual fee is waived smile.gif

I feel unsafe when banks can't tell black-and-white how to entitle for annual fee waiver. At least they must say "Spend at least RMXXX within XX months" or "Sign up for an auto debit and get 2 years annual fee waived", sort of that. But Citibank never does that. This year can waive, next year maybe not.
After all, I turned to DirectAccess which is free for life without condition.

as far as i'm concern they are quite "generous"...if you tell them you wanna terminate the card because of the annual fee, they will waive it
