I flash them an email and received a call a day later. I am offering to redeem my points and then they mentioned to me that I can redeem 10k points to waive for the tax and they will give 11k points next month.

Actually SCB is doing a promotion right now. I'm not sure whether the promotion is throughout the year; according to the letter this is a promotion for cards holders that the card is expired in May 2010 and decide to retain the card for the following year. the only condition is that you need to swipe 3 times during the renewal months. They will give 11,000 rewards points. at the same time you need to redeem 10,000 points to waive for the tax. As for HSBC, I have the same experienced they could not simply waive your card.

hmmm looks like i might need to cancenl the card and hope that they would offer to give me the bonus points if i reinstate the card... but that's very troublesome tongue.gif
