As far as I'm concern, I still can't find any other petrol card better than Citibak Shell Gold which gives 2.5% direct cash rebate (shell petrol only) + 0.75% rebate for other retail transactions credited to your account every month.
I definitely think so. I'm no longer a bachelor and I have to do Weekly grocery shopping for the family and the amount paid rarely below RM100.  You can also see thousands of people with their full loaded shopping carts waiting in line to pay at the cashier every weekend nationwide.

Don't think your Shell Gold can beat Amex Gold CC with >2.5% equivalent rebate for petrol and supermarket spending with no annual feels and no requirement for carry forward balance. :)

2% rebate at all gas stations ? Is this a new promotion ? I thought only the CIMB Petronas MasterCard gives you 2% rebate and it is applicable at Petronas stations only.
*
Yes, generic CIMB MC's give 2% rebate at all petrol stations. If I'm not mistaken, promotion is until end of the year.

No, the card that earns 2% rebate at all gas stations is Direct Access Mastercard.

Aren't DA and generic CIMB CC benefits more or less the same?

More or less the same is right but there are still some minor differences. And Chemistry is right.

Thanks for the clarification. This does seem to be one of the benefits of DA MC compared to generic CIMB MC.

im using maybank's easy payment plan... the question is, i hav several months to go to for the installment to settle, but can i settle all the payment earlier since i got extra money now?
*
Most banks EPP in the T&C says will charge for early settlement. Contact CS to confirm if they'll actually charge.

I did hear somebody shared that for MBB EPP, no charges for early settlement.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Poor memory indeed!

It's specifically mentioned in T&C for Ezypayplus but not for Ezypay and BT. Best to ask them to confirm.

Any other petrol stations practice the holding besides Shell? Petronas I think do not hold any amount. I once fill up RM50 through kiosk at Petronas using my card which was left with only RM60 credit limit (went on a bit of a spree that month, hehe) and the transaction went through.
*
All petrol stations will hold a certain amount when you swipe at the pump. This is simply because they don't know how much you want to pump. Nothing needs to be done, anything extra will go away by itself. If you pay at the kiosk or counter, they already know how much you want, thus no hold.

Always try to pay before the due date to avoid such charges. It is still possible to call up Maybank to waive the late charges and finance charges if you only had overdue <2 days... no harm in asking.
*
ABM ruling since middle last year, late payment fee will only be charged from the 4th calendar day onwards after last payment date. Finance charges are however still applicable for late payments. To my limited experience, you will still enjoy the 20 days interest-free period as long as the statement amount plus any extra finance charges is settled before the 4th calendar day. This can be done by overpaying about 1-2% of the statement amount before the 4th calendar day.

When is the date of transaction?

There's some double entry transaction happened on 14th August.

My Amex was double charged on 14th and called Amex after it was posted online and it was reversed today. Was wondering if you know any extra story to this double charging?
