QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ May 15 2010, 07:52 PM) Really ? No need to call in to beg them at all ? How thoughtful of them. I flash them an email and received a call a day later. I am offering to redeem my points and then they mentioned to me that I can redeem 10k points to waive for the tax and they will give 11k points next month. |

QUOTE(fiseel @ May 20 2010, 03:16 PM) what did u put in the email? can teach a bit? When i call HSBC to ask them to give a waiver of the service tax, they say NO, ask me to redeem from point, but how to make them to give me the points back ar?? Actually SCB is doing a promotion right now. I'm not sure whether the promotion is throughout the year; according to the letter this is a promotion for cards holders that the card is expired in May 2010 and decide to retain the card for the following year. the only condition is that you need to swipe 3 times during the renewal months. They will give 11,000 rewards points. at the same time you need to redeem 10,000 points to waive for the tax. As for HSBC, I have the same experienced they could not simply waive your card. |

perhaps you can flash an email to SCB once you close to the expiry date. according to this letter, this is exclusive for your card which are due to renewal in May 2010. sorry maybe I the way I wrote is misleading. Maybe they issue this offer on regular basis, who knows

QUOTE(Darkmage12 @ May 20 2010, 08:38 PM) nope that leaflet was sent to me, that is why I think they might send the same leaflet to you but changing the month to fit your expiry datewhat I did so far: -email CS asking about how to use rewards point to waive for service tax (since there is no option for this in the online rewards) -CS called me mentioned to me that I need to use 10k points for that purpose and he can do that straight away -CS mentioned also to me that as a reward for my royalty they have promotion where they will give 11k points sometimes in June provided I charge the card three times -then they mailed a leaflet (like a promotion letter) mentioned the same things as above |

Being offered pre-approved Eon platinum card, I've read through their website and found out that they have wide ranges of co-branded platinum as well as the standard platinum. None of the extra benefits from the co-branded card attract me therefore should I go for the standard platinum? the appearance of the co-branded card (such as MATTA) also look not very nice (too many pics)
the standard platinum also do not has much benefit but I would like to give it a try since they will waive the tax for new approved applicant |

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Jun 13 2010, 05:39 PM) Yes. I believe so. Was just approached by a Citibank credit card agent and was told if i were to apply using an existing card, it has to be at least a Gold card with credit limit greater than RM10,000. is there any other credit cards that using platinum word but not in the group of platinum level? |

A pre-approved CC also took 1 week before they formally approved the card. BT can check MBB, they have an offer like 4.5 % per year for 2 yearsThis post has been edited by cenkudu: Jun 23 2010, 05:12 PM |

Citibank cash back platinum need to register for at least one 'one bill' before they waive for GST. is this one bill = auto pay. can we cancel this one bill service in less than 1 year because if can't that just simply means we need to pay GST for the following year

this GST has pushed CC providers to offer more and more. I saw HLB promotion 6 months with 0% interest on retails spending which is quite good. but read the T & C
"The total subsidy for 0% FC is subject to a maximum of RM150 per Principal Cardholder during the Interest Free Period on the first-come, first-served basis and RM450,000 allocation by HLB for this Campaign, whichever comes first" This post has been edited by cenkudu: Jul 24 2010, 05:14 PM |

i don't think it is related to whether you go overseas or not. sometimes you will have problem to use even in Malaysia because of either bank line prob or visa/master/Amex prob.
normally bank will ask you to call before you fly to avoid them to call you to confirm if they is fraud transaction occur using your card. this will incur cost from your site as the roaming cost is higher. i don't think they will blocked your transaction unless they are really sure something goes wrong (normally this will require your instruction as the card holder). therefore I suspect in your case perhaps there is problem with your bank/card line during the transaction at the restaurant. |

I think this is not about degree or earning sky high. min salary to get a CC is RM1500 per month, bank normally will give CL based on 2 times salary. so in this case at least one should get 3K CL. again this is based on each bank discretion
