It is a similar tactic used in USA and Singapore.
Which is really low for a Platinum series credit card. Anyhow, nobody really pays annual fee nowadays. The annual fee can be easily waived by calling up the credit card centre when it's due.

At least its better than Citi-Shell whereby you have to pump Shell to be eligible for the rebate to cash out. Found out when I stop pumping Shell after RON95 being introduced. I even cancel it while it have RM50++ of rebate just because of it.

I like SCB rebate best cos given on the same month but only 0.5%. Alliance Bank rebate is higher but for someone like me who dont keep their statement record, I just lose count and feel at times the rebate is really low.

for credit limit...i think citibank is the kindest....

I dont think so. It depends on how desperate they were. When I apply for Citibank card few years back, they only give me 1.5x of what HSBC is offering. When I applied for SCB Platinum with my 13k Citibank gold card, I was given two Plat with 43k limit which still remain 43k after I cancel one them which I didnt apply for. SCB the best.. the rebate is just 0.5% (so so) but instantly credited. They also give me RM100 which is more than enough to offset 2 years of GST. You even get points ontop of the rebate which is similar to Alliance Bank Younique.

As far as I'm concern, I still can't find any other petrol card better than Citibak Shell Gold which gives 2.5% direct cash rebate (shell petrol only) + 0.75% rebate for other retail transactions credited to your account every month.
I definitely think so. I'm no longer a bachelor and I have to do Weekly grocery shopping for the family and the amount paid rarely below RM100.  You can also see thousands of people with their full loaded shopping carts waiting in line to pay at the cashier every weekend nationwide.
I'm talking just grocery spending alone. For May last month, Malaysia have 24 million credit card transactions and RM5.73 billion spent by local card holders.

I dont know how real is RHB offer. I think they are currently offering 5% rebate for petrol on weekends. I was skeptical but since Im holding their card, I just pump all my petrol purchase there. I will post an update when I received my bill next month. Shell-Citi is not bad, just that you are stucked with Shell petrol (poor RON95 grade) and only being released once accumulated to RM30 and above.

Hopefully was quick enough to win a HP netbook from SCB... Forgot about it and sent after 1hr at 10am. Zzzzz... when will I receive my Ipod Shuffle...

Not bad... spent 2.5k get RM200+ free gift. Almost 10% back, LOL

Now if only I get the netbook, that would make me cling to SCB for another year see what they got to offer again. Miss out on the LCD TV lastime...

Ya meh?
I also got two from them but acc only show RM100 (used to be RM100 before upgraded to RM150). Thats why I cancel one cos cant afford to pay for 2.

I just received a letter from SCB telling me to swipe 3 times and get 11,000 bonus points.
Next month renewal...

BUT I wonder if I have to call them to waived the annual fee or was it two year free?
