I read in The Star recently you can get a CC approved almost immediate at their Damansara Heights HQ. Call them to confirm. Generally about a week to two.

I'm using CIMB DA and Maybank...both of them same...but to make sure all that happen...better u call their center once submittion.....ask for the status

if u want them to process rite away...sent ur application to center by email or fax...don't submit by branch...cos they only sent the customer application once a week...normally thursday...

n once card approved...ask them to sent to nearest branch...u will collect n activate ur card there...much more secure...

Talk about speed of application, I would like to share my personal experience with HSBC.

23th of April - Credit card application for HSBC
30th of April - Charged me RM50 govt tax
10th of June - Required me to pay the govt tax by 11th June to avoid late charge.

Problem is, as of today I still not possess any HSBC credit card. At least 20 calls / email to HSBC and also my relationship managers from April until today, still can't get it right.

You'll get approved but will share the same credit limit with your first card.

In addition, you have to pay another RM50 GST yearly as well blink.gif

Dear *****,

Thank you for your e-mail to Citibank dated 6/8/10 regarding Mastercard
Secure Code.

Please be informed that currently Citibank Malaysia does not implement
3D Secure for online transaction by credit card (Master or Visacard
Secure Code). You will not be able to purchase using Citibank credit
card from website that requires Visa Verified or Master SecureCode.

We hope the above clarifies.

Thank you for using Citibank Online and have a nice day.

I was about to purchase some products from Amazon.cn using my father's
Citibank Gold MasterCard when I found out that his card was rejected.
Apparently your bank doesn't support MasterCard SecureCode purchases. I
tried searching through your website but found no way to activate this
function.

My father - a card member since 1992 - was disappointed that your bank
did not keep up with the times. I found out that other major banks in
Malaysia have already enabled this feature.

I hope you can clarify whether your bank supports the  Verified by Visa
and  MasterCard SecureCode systems to ensure that my purchase can be
made.

Regards,
*****

They think their current fraud detection system is good enough hence they don't think they need to implement such system. Anyway, having this Verified by VISA and MasterCard SecureCode do not mean your card is safe. There are still many websites that do not require Verified by VISA and MasterCard SecureCode to allow a payment to go through.
