Maybank CS sucks!!!! It is very hard to reach thier hotline. I had tried waiting 20mins and still nobody pickup.
Ended up i called the outside Malaysia no. and ask them to transfer my call.

Even you go to counter also same. Waiting 1 hour ended up doing nothing.
I want to change my saving acc address only need to go back to the place I opened the acc.
I also fill-up a form for CC address change, already 2 months still mail to old address.

What kind of bullshit is this of service. Waste time and money.

For my experience, call them at midnight or early morning will get answered immediately.

Also, their processing speed is slow. Personally not very satisfy with their service, but since I need to get those 2x, 5x and 10x point with their credit card, what can we do.

Added on June 9, 2010, 10:53 amWant to ask something here, recently saw the Citibank launch a Platinum Cash Back card in their website. Is there any requirement for getting this card? As I see no requirement page for this card, is this the card that is same as UOB One Card that claim themselves are "Platinum" standard but the requirement is RM18K annual income also can apply?

It's confirmed Alliance charges higher than other bank!

Last week I again used my Alliance Visa Plat to settle my hotel bill in Abu Dhabi, while my colleague used his HSBC Premier MC to pay the hotel bill. We checked out and made the payment at the same time. When I checked my unbilled amount online a few days later, Alliance's figure was 0.9% higher than my friend's HSBC!
*
I would concur. Been doing some conversions using Oanda.com FX history as a benchmark. Alliance Bank seems to be consistently higher than a HSBC card I am comparing to. Of course the transaction dates in my case are different.

Thus it looks like we are paying for the cashbacks tongue.gif

The Alliance Bank credit looks to be relegated to local play only At least it is still one of the highest cash back cards for general purchases. (before the spate of offers from other banks...)

You have to be earning at least RM60,000/pa to qualify for this card. For their generic Platinum card, the minimum income required is RM100,000/pa.

I would like to ask about the tiered finance charge. My card will reach its 1st 12 months in a couple of months. I have made prompt payment (more than the monthly minimum) every month. So lets say I continue to do so until the 12th month, I will be eligible for Tier I, 13.5% pa, for the next 12 months.

What I would like to know as I am unsure, is how this finance tier thing works. Is it:

a) 13.5% / 12 months = 1.125%

- for the next 12 months, my outstanding balance will be charged a monthly interest of 1.125%

OR

b) 13.5% on the outstanding balance of the 12th month. Example: After the 12th month, I still have rm1000 outstanding balance. So the next month, this Rm1k will be charged 13.5% (RM1000 x 13.5%)... Rm135.

Thanks in advance.

However, if it is compared to other premium card like CIMB/DA VI or World MC, this card is still better. For example, it gives free travel insurance of up to RM3mil and free travel medical insurance of up to RM50,000 each for cardholder and his/her spouse. No other cards in Malaysia offer such a high premium.
*
Since I don't do banking business with SCB anymore, I don't qualify for SCB VI cry.gif

As for comparing SCB VI to DA, yah DA WMC don't offer Insurance but CIMB WMC does. However it must be noted that both CIMB and DA is free for life where as SCB VI has annual fees of RM800 (correct me if I am wrong). If just for the sake of Insurance Converage, then for a non frequent traveller (for my case) the RM800 is not justifiable as it should cost less than RM800 to get a RM3M policy for travel purposes.

Having said that, the CIMB/DA VI is really not worth getting even it is free. Got to waste RM50 and getting benefits less than CIMB/DA WMC.

As far as I know, the only "high premium" card that gives me free coffee at Dome is CIMB/DA WMC and therefore better than any other card I have when going to Dome tongue.gif

Thanks for the confirmation, save me the hassle to get a Alliance supp MC for my son.

However it must be said that HSBC do no give cash back and Alliance gives 2X points for overseas spending. Therefore, Alliance card "return/reward" is better than HSBC after considering the rate is 0.9% higher (if charged less than RM5K a month limit for Alliance cash back program).

I also received an official offer from SCB today. SCB will grant me 11,000 choice points if I use my SCB JustOne cc at least 3 times by end of this month. This offer is for SCB CCs due for renewal in July. That's very generous!
*
Good to know that SCB also have some kind of program to "offset" the RM50 tax. How much is 11,000 points equal too in terms of RM (for vouchers or cashback).

HLB gave me 20,000 points when i wanted to cancel my MC Plat.

I had MBB Plat card, cancelled it because once when I called the CS line, nobody pick up the phone! For CC card and calling MBB CS, I would say MBB does sucks but going into the branch is different, service level acceptable.

I'm using MBB CC only because they gave it to me after my car loan approval. At that time still no service tax, so I thought I just use it lah. It then became my primary CC coz I use it primarily to fill petrol only. 5X points at Petronas and evergreen points, quite good deals.

As long as you are still a Priority Banking customer with SCB, the AF can be easily waived. Very few people are willing to pay AF nowadays.

As I get reimbursement in full from my company, the high admin fee on forex conversion is not really a big issue to me. I am however disappointed over Alliance's dishonest gimmick.

If you think carefully, the 2x points from Alliance bank is actually equivalent to 0.40% - 0.45% cash back only, still far from the additional 0.9% charge.

SCB requires 10,000 choice points to offset the RM50 service tax. Under the reward programme, you can use 5,000 points to redeem RM25 cash rebate vs 12,000 points for a RM50 voucher. Cash redemption is obviously much better than vouchers.
