Dell Inspiron 13R, i3 330M + ATi HD5470 @ RM2299 will be good deal but the major thing is that it doesn't have opt drive are you fine with that?

if other alternative you can go for

Acer AS4741G-332G50 with Ci3-330/2GB/500GB/DVDRW/ATI radeon 5450 512MB VGA/Webcam/B.Tooth/Wifi/W7HP/3 yrs warranty @ RM2260

A value laptop with an entry-level / lower middle class DirectX 11 graphic card I can say.
Check out the graphic card performance at:ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-5470

^Question is, will 3820TG with i7-620M+HD5650 available in Malaysia?
Even the 4820 in Malaysia come with hd5470 only.

I think you're really being shortchanged by Dell if they don't give you a DVD writer for a laptop of that price and size. It's pretty common for 13" to come with built in DVD drives nowadays. Normally you see then go away only on the 12 inchers. Furthermore, 13R isn't all the compact.
