Do you need to provide a cover letter on the interview day when you already got the interview appointment date? My guess is that cover letter is sent to prospective employer only to get an appointment. correct?

No need. Just bring along your certificates, passport-size photo (some co. will request that) for interview.

If I am the interviewer, I will not hire you.
I want a clerk not a graduate. Come Sep2011 you will start looking for job that best suit your qualification.

Apply for a job that require graduate qualifications. Convocation is just a formality. You can use your result to show that you have graduated.

thank you...so i'll tweak th cvl then. smile.gif

Sent my application to prospected employer through email.
But I have a feeling that my email might end up in junk email.
Time for backup plan. Sending write in application.
Do you think it is still applicable?

As long as the vacancy is still available, should be ok... no harm to write-in...

Wow, you are very helpful. smile.gif
I did not apply for specific vacancy.
Wrote to them if there is any vacancy which suits with my interests and skills-set.

The obvious answer is B. If you want to be get technical about it then the company that pay your salary (be it A or B) is your employer.

Even if you chose to tell them it still shows that you are sloppy. Do or do not also die.

hey guys. im a final semester degree student, mechanical engineering. i wish to start sending out job applications but im having a dilemma about my resume. i have two versions of it, the 1st was as recommended by my university's HR officer, the other as recommended by my career & alumni officer. some of their tips kind of clashed.

i hope there's anyone out there who are willing to have a look at both resumes and advise me which one is better. i dont feel comfortable sharing my details in public so please PM me if u can lend some help smile.gif

thanks

Guys, I'm writing my career objective for my resume. Need your feedback on it.

"Career Objective:

Seeking challenging career opportunity with a reputed organization that utilizes and further improves my expertise in soft skill development, talent acquisition and corporate communication for personal and organization development."

Somehow I have a feeling that it sounded redundant... does it?

Hi guys, need a little help here in submitting a cover letter for online application purposes.

Since the cover letter is uploaded to the 3rd party system of the organisation, do we need to include an address? And if its an MNC, which address do I need to insert if the recruitment process is somewhat globalised? The HQ address?

And since the system would already have my contact details and address, do I still need to include it in the cover letter?

Sound self centered. What can you do for the company = 0.

desire,
1) Start with SPM
2) One page resume is also acceptable
3) refer to 1 above
4) Cover letter is formality only. It is better to use cover letter.
