Anyway guys do you ever feel uncomfortable in a e60 or any bmw that doesn't  have any lumbar support and how do you address it? buy a ugly cushion? sweat.gif

Sitting in the car for not longer than 30 minutes and i have a backache already  sad.gif

Bro me too, after long hours my back hurts, my current solution is thai massage near my house haha.

sad huh that the ultimate driving machine also is the ultimate backache machine laugh.gif
massage place, gotta try going for a massage for a change laugh.gif

But i heard good review from shorter dudes, as i'm 6feet1 hence my long legs and body, i think it contributed to the backache... Try slipping a small pillow for long drives does help a little, try it smile.gif

I never had problem with my seat..... in fact... I find it very comfy... are your seats the 12 way adjustable seat? I normally rotate mine to the max so that the weight is distributed evenly on my back and not stressing on my lower back....
*
I think mine is not the 12way as well, for sure no lumbar support, but the controls have more buttons den the usual ones, will try to snap a pic and post it here.

mine aren't the 12 way adjustable  cry.gif

All i can adjust is the tilt and move it forward and back...thats about it sad.gif

i think since yours is the 12 way, i think it has the lumbar support thats why its comfy laugh.gif

oh yeah quick question for u guys... how do you tell if your e60 has adaptive headlights?

is there a year which they were introduced in or something?

or was adaptive headlight present in the e60 since 2004 when it was first launched? unsure.gif
*
I think only the LCI has it? When u start your car, will your headlamp move up and then down? Mine does but not sure wether is it the adaptive headlamp function...

mine does go up and down... and now the headlight switch green led is flashing indicating Adaptive headlight failure doh.gif
all this while didn't notice...thought the flashing green led is normal...the lights aren't too high so the centering mechanism still works... But it doesn't turn into the corners sad.gif

gonna ask my mech to look into it...i'm hoping all that is needed  is just a update of the software sad.gif
*
Bro where is the mentioned flashing indication? Any error on the i-drive?

guys,

is it worth the money to buy from Premium Selections?

or should i just pay less and go for RECOND ones?
*
From what i know you can save alot if go with the recond's but its all about luck, Premium Selections on the other hand offer a peace of mind on a heavy price tag. If its me i would gamble with the reconds.

QUOTE(DrBarbarian @ Nov 3 2011, 11:38 AM)

Hi guys.

UDM owner reporting in. (Old UDM, actually).

My car : '86 E30 M20B20 converted to M20B23

Bought the car about 18 months ago. Using it as a daily driven. Now in the process of slowly restoring it to its full glory. Have replaced all the wear and tear parts. Now the final step is the paint job.

Cheers.

Some latest news:
BMW Recalls All 2003-2010 5-Series and 6-Series

We not usually cover automotive recalls on Autoviva. There is always a recall going on, and they do not necessarily point to a car's overall quality. However, this is a big one. BMW is recalling all 2003 to 2010 5-series and 6-series cars due to the incorrect mounting of the battery cable cover in the trunk. The recall affects about 1.3 million cars worldwide.

If this problem is left unfixed, it can cause electrical system malfunctions, the car not starting and the possibility of fires. Although, BMW claims that it knows of no examples of anyone being injured because of the problem.

BMW will contact owners by mail soon, and they can bring the car in for free service for the recall.

QUOTE(BMW fanatic @ Mar 29 2012, 09:03 AM)
Yes .... this was in The Star yesterday:

Free BMW 5 and 6 Series car inspections for glitch

PETALING JAYA: Owners of BMW 5 and 6 Series built between 2003 and 2010 have been advised to send in their vehicles for inspection.

This follows a report on Monday that BMW AG was recalling about 1.3 million cars for repairs worldwide due to a possible fault with the battery cable cover in the boot.

BMW Group Malaysia managing director Geoffrey Briscoe said no accident or injury had been reported due to the technical fault in Malaysia or abroad.

“Being proactive in this circumstance as well as for our customers’ peace of mind, we welcome our customers to visit any of our 15 authorised BMW service centres nationwide to get their vehicles inspected.

“The process will not take longer than 30 minutes and at no cost to the customer,” he said yesterday.

Briscoe said those who bought the 5 and 6 series models built within that period through unauthorised or “grey” importers should also have their vehicles checked immediately at an authorised BMW service centre.

According to a Reuters report quoting BMW AG on Monday, the battery cable cover inside the boot of these vehicles may be incorrectly mounted in some cases.

“This can result in the electrical system malfunctioning, the vehicle failing to start and, in some cases, to charring or fire,” the company said.

BMW said markets affected by the recall include the United States, Germany, Britain and China.

Fewer than 1% of the cars BMW has so far inspected for the issue have exhibited the problem, a BMW spokesman said.

For more information, call BMW Voice at 1 800 88 3000.
