E codenames are to differentiate between what generations

Actually i prefer the facelifted e90 3 series but my budget is only enuff for the pre-facelift which doesnt have the idrive navigator (which e60 5 series have) i'm a sucker for technology stuff hehe.

imo both are sporty in its own way , only minus point for prefacelift e90 is the rear white reverse light... hmmm...

What u think Johan?
*
u can change the rear preFL e90 to grey ones, i think that look nice. not sure if can convert rear light from preFL to FL though.
i think preFL 325i sports e90 has the idrive

Really good looking e36 there !

I think the noticeable changes are the front lips, the rims and a diff spoiler behind?

Hi all,

I am planning to get a used E46. Preferably the facelift version. But it seems that the older one is sportier.

Peopl have been telling me that the E46 is unreliable. Can you guys point out the problems? What should I look for when I am finding an E46?

common problems:
- window prone to 'jatuh', will need to replace window motor
- ignition coil
- bushings
- expansion tank tend to crack
- wheel bearing
- the urge to MOD the car

what you need to look out for
- sub frame (especially those with aftermarket suspension)
- gearbox (!)

i have heard that the pre-face tend to have less problems as opposed to the facelift. either way, maintenance might be on the high side, Banyak Masuk Workshop, and Banyak Makan Wang, but the driving pleasure makes it all worth it.
