Have to agree with you, that is certainly the case. These days I've decided to let ppl be happy with what they say. Gets you nowhere trying to prove a point.

On another note. I see your interest in the F30. Are you getting one? Phenomenal power for a 2liter engine. I may go for used F10 diesel in a years time. Can't afford a new one!

Sadly the BMW 2.0L engines are way behind those from Volkswagen.

Here are the stock dyno results:
320i - on Dyno results is around 170ps
328i - on Dyno results is around 235ps

Volkswagen Stock dyno results
Golf GTI Mk7 - on Dyno results is around 217ps
Golf R Mk7 (AWD) - on Dyno results is around 257ps

The power differences show even more once its tuned.

Stage 2 Golf GTI Mk7 can reach up to 300ps whilst sadly none of the BMW N20 engines have yet to reach those levels yet.

Actually, ive always wondered about this. Why do car manufacturers keep advertising higher power and torque figures when actual Dyno test results are almost always lower?

Well, ive been driving my friend's VW Golf TSI MK7 for the past week and I must say that I find the handling of the BMW 320i to be better. Must better roll control taking corners at higher speeds.

because u don't understand the difference between on-engine and on-wheel reading.

I should hope so, considering the difference in price.

Multiple factors that affect the dyne readings.

As mentioned in an earlier post, on wheel vs on engine, dynojet vs dyno dynamic type of dyno machine, ambient temperature and humidity

sorry for double post. This should be the correct thread

Need advise to choose between (320i)
1) 4k mileage with 2 yrs warranty + 5 years full free service and parts
2) zero mileage with 5 warranty + 5 years free service n parts except brake pad.

Both registered this year and same year made
Price different 8k.

Is 8k enough to justify/compensate the lack of warranty?

To choose 1 or 2
Appreciated if anyone can advise/explain.

Go for option 2, i think the 5 years warranty is justified

Any e46 owners or enthusiasts etc around still? Feels like the e46 crowds in Malaysia kinda died down or something. The forums are no longer active, no one replies.

I am hoping to talk to folks that are familiar with the SSG/SMG on the E46.

Hello all, if i were to compare E90 325i with F30 328i, which is better if it's more of an overall car?

Was a fan of E90 but F30 is equally tempting with it's turbo.

u will have to search old forum threads assuming those threads still exist.

Of course I have went through most e46 forums. But just want to talk to the local E46 owners lol. There are many active E46 forums out there, but I'm looking for the local crowds smile.gif

Hi guys .. for all the F30 owners out there, would you mind to share what are the common issues for this generation? Also between 320i and 320d, which would be a better choice?

Trying to decide between getting a current 520i or wait for new 320i or get a recon 5 Series?

BMW generally offering about 34-40K discount for current model 520i and 528 M Sports.

Would prefer a 5 Series but don't wanna spend that much on monthly repayments.

Any good grey importers with good promos now? And trustworthy.
