How is the IKEA furniture working for you guys?

I'm was gonna get a new desk there (current desk too small for 27" iMac) but I was advised against it because it's all cheap particleboard. I went to those um, big furniture sheds and everything there looked like crap. Everything's solid wood but the desks either looked like those grey office desk or it looked really tacky and old fashion with horrible finishing.

So IKEA or not? Any other place that anyone can recommend?
