Great! good separation, good clarity and the bass is tight..best listening in short distance eg: 3~5 feet away from the speaker.

Hey everyone.
I just purchased my second Mac Pro after 5 years.
If anyone's interested, I'm letting go my old Mac Pro for a good price. See this forum topic for details.

Here are the specs of my new machine:

- Mac Pro 5,1 hex-core 3.33Ghz
- ATI Radeon 5870 1GB graphics card
- 48GB RAM
- 2 x 120GB SSDs, RAID0 striped and split into:
- 120GB OS volume (system and applications)
- 120GB scratch disk for Photoshop/video stuff)
- 3 x 3TB Hitachi HDs, split into:
- 2TB data volume (RAID0 striped)
- 3 x 120GB volumes for rolling OS internal backup
- 1 x 2TB Time Machine backup
- 2 x 2TB spare volumes

It's pretty beastly smile.gif

I have 3 x WD My Studio II external backup drives so all my data is safe.
I have 24" and 20" old Apple monitors so all my data can be seen tongue.gif
I have a Wacom Intuos 3 6x11 tablet (absolutely awesome, can't work without it!)

Here is my setup:

Heh, you are both correct. It;s true, I do all my work standing up. That setup was supposed to be temporary (found an old table and cut the legs a bit shorter) but I'm still using it 8 months later. I do roughly 6 hours a day, sometimes less. Now I split my work into serious (design/photoshop etc, standing up with the Mac Pro) and less serious (emails, web research etc, sitting at the dining table with my laptop).

I like the standing desk, I feel more focused when working and it's much easier to walk away to take a break. I wrote more information about it on my website.

It's good. It takes a while to get used to, but I can stand for hours at a time now, without discomfort.
