I think the panel is IPS panel right? Maybe that also contributes to the price... Yea and the colour of the display is very sharp and vibrant... But all apple products are definitely quoted higher compared to those mainstream products =P

Many ppl hooked their Mac with a Dell U2311H monitor.. Just search on google. Im not sure if you need drivers or not but most monitors should be plug and play.... Just need to change a little settings on the macbook and it should be usable

Mac OS is definitely compatible with torrent software... Im using utorrent on my MBP.... And yes Mac OS can play those files and if it cant, just use a converter. QUOTE(mdzamri @ Jan 8 2012, 05:33 PM) hey guys, After fixing unifi, i plan to buy mac mini for download purposes. Just not sure whether Mac os is compatible with torrent software or not such as bit comet, azureus etc. Also can mac os play files like .mkv, .mt2s etc.? Before this im using windows...

I never used any coolers for my MBP 15" since day 1 and its now 2 years + and never had any overheating problem.
Normal programming C, C++, C# etc wont consume much processing power unless you are talking about graphic rendering, etc
