A Westipoo doesnt eat much. I suggest u buy better brand and slow transition it over the old one. I would suggest a grain free dog food. Jes to name a few top brand such as Orijen Six Fish, Acana Pasifica, Annamaet Aqualok, TOTW, Evo and others. You may refer to dogfooadvisor.com to see which is the best quality dog food.

Agreed. Since young u enforced the puppy with good food so later they grow up they will have a well built structure and strong. Last time because of no knowledge i start my dog with not so good kibble (nutriedge  ) so now she is a bit small size n no matter what good food to give her now also no help. Seems like human ma. Luckily my dog is a girl so she stay slim is okay. Haa...(self console   )

Dun worry, u still have much to learn. Keep on researching and eventually u will know what is best for your dog. Petshop will of course try to push whatever brand so that they can get higher profit. So it's up to us to decide. Also vet will push u their sponsored brand such as science plan etc which is quite useless kibbles. Who to trust? Trust yourself and trust dogfoodadvisor.com. Check out their 5 star rated dog food and u will get the best. Of course not all brand available in Malaysia.

Acana have a few range in Malaysia. I recommend you go for grain free Acana which is for all life stages. Of course u can opt for grain food in Acana which is a little cheaper and are for small breed puppy etc, but grain free is still the best to feed your dog. Malaysia only selling Acana Pacifica (fish based) and Acana Wild Praire. (Chicken and fish) for their grain free range. I am feeding my dog Acana Pacifica which he is doing quite well.

Anyway, it's all up to the dog. A super brand can be good for many dog but not yours. U need to find 'suitable' food for you dog as some dog cannot tolerate some ingredient if you know what i mean..

You will need to transition the food slowly to orijen, mix a little bit of orijen first then slowly increase the ratio if you pup is doing well.

Its one of the few 6-Star rated kibbles around BUT am not sure how easy it is to source....

Which ORIJEN have you been feeding your pup?

Well my pup is just 1 week away from being 4 months old and he is being fed with Orijen Large Breed Puppy and he absolutely LOVES it!!!!!

It depends at times on the breed its being fed to. Some smaller breed might have issues with Orijen due to its 'claimed' high Protein level....

Anyways, it may or may not be of the Protein level IMHO....

My pup has had itch like a few weeks after going into Orijen diet....one vet told me to change the food....another told me not to worry its just an bacterial infection and prescribed him with some medications - Now, he has no more itch issues....

Normally shop will promote the brand they carry n can earn high commission. Annameat is all life stage n not many shop selling because of the price. I went to many pet shops n most of them will only said good abt the brand that they carry. I personally dont like natural balance cos they put potato as their first ingredient which i think is high in carbo low in meat. My two dogs tried before n poo a lot. This is my opinion.

I got a 4.5 months Shih Tzu, previously was fed with Origen Puppy 

Ya, the poo is terrible smelly and soft, hard to clean it, sometime it will stick at her fur as well, have to take bath every few days 

So far I just fed that for 2 weeks time, but her weight was grow almost 1kg 

I think the protein is too high for it, so I decided to change others brand.

What to do she knows i sayang her. Since small she is like that. Now i added salmon oil and nutripet gel in his food and she loves it and now she has a very good appetite after eating the nutripet gel. Sometimes she is so naughty that she purposely left some food behind and hoping that i add in some more nutripet gel for her. And most of the time she WIN. Salute her.

You do realized that you are encouraging her not to finish her food, right?

I know.  She is my sweet heart and i just want to see her happy. I personally felt that keeping a pet is different from raising up a child.  I dont want to so stress and strict to her and made myself angry all the time.    She happy and i happy then is okay.   this is only my opinion.

Weird, I've been feeding my pup with Orijen puppy large and he has been having soft stool since day 1, not sure if it's because of Orijen.

Wonder what other quality kibbles to try?
