Hi, I have a 6 years old Golden retriever and recently she has some problems with her skin ( red, flaky and itchy) The vet suspects that she has allergies and suggests me to feed her Royal Canin Hypoallergenic dog food but it's over my budget. Any other recommendations for dog food that's suitable? Thanks.

QUOTE(Red_rustyjelly @ Mar 30 2018, 02:42 PM) Royal Canin Hypo is also Chicken if i am not mistaken. the good thinks in prescription diet is their Hydrolyzed protein, which mean the protein is broken down into digestible acidsĀ to be easily absorbed. Therefore it will lessen skin issues. If you want to try the non-vet diet, can try Grain Free food like Addiction Salmon/Natural Balance/Avoderm/Acana which have relatively middle range protein. If you opt for higher protein grain free, it will be Orijen/Merrick/Farmina N&D Thanks! I just bought a pack of Pro Pac grain-free..the ingredient list looks good but how is it as compared to the few brands you recommend??The shop also recommended Blackwood but I hesitated because it has chicken meal in it.. This is what I found for the Pro Pac dog food : https://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-rev...tes-grain-free/This post has been edited by Golidelulu: Mar 30 2018, 03:17 PM
