IMO, SAF really needs to bring in a good playmaker, not only just to boss around the game, but also to have the other team 2-man-mark that person.
This would create gaps for the other players, and being the playmaker, he'd create passes through those gaps.

We can't rely on scholesy and giggs all the time, they're coming of age, and carrick doesnt seem to do that lately, nor fletch is able much of it .

It doesn't have to be a big name, but certainly someone who could play around with the ball, release nani/valencia to the flanks or just slide in a pass for berba to flick the ball over the keeper.

To tell you the truth, we didn't have only 4 able strikers, we had equally capable midfielders to destroy the backline. Beckham, Butt, Scholes, Giggs, Keano, just to name a few, in which I know I have left out lots more.

Can't score from open play? Let Beckham handle the freekicks.
No idea who to target from a corner kick? Give scholesy at the edge of the penalty box, he'll rip the net.
Everyone is on a bad day? Let Giggs finish his run with a goal.

For now, our midfield is the weakest link(to attack), in my opinion. An attacking midfielder would sort that out, or probably 2 good central midfielders to boss the game around.

Let Berba out of this. Any striker would need balls fed to him, and Berba can do that nistelrooy run from centre pitch against fulham, its just a matter of time.

^He showed a bit of it in the stoke game..he could run at defenders, and shrug them off, he has the body strength to do so

Well I think the linesman forgot to take account of the SA player on the line, hence the offside, no need for rules, bad decision from the linesman.

Didnt see much of Hernandez today. :|
