Thanks bro.. I bought him by late 2008. I had RES (red ear sliders) before, but doesnt suit me well at that time.

He has been my best pet ever. I would choose him over the whole aquarium, if i hv to make the choice.

Wait, pls be careful of extreme heat from direct sunlight. I dunno if its just me, but i think small RESes cant stand it. I used to keep a pair of RES in a plastic tank outside. Later both died. I learned that u shud at least hv certain depth of water in a pond, so that the water temperature wont get too hot. Later i'll post pics, if i hv time.

Okey.. but dont think I will let them expose to direct sunlight. will somehow provide a shade and should be keeping them in a bathtub i wonder if that gonna work..

I have a horde of them FRT lol some in a bige fiberglass tank 10'x3' x 4' depth the bigger guy/gals in cement tank with climb out sand pit as " play ground "

Wow.. u must be a hardcore turtle fan. U hv my respect brah So interested to see ur tanks of FRTs. U must hv invested a lot of money for them rite?

BTW my former RES tank. So sad both of the RESes died

simple and nice setup. btw do you fill it with sufficient water that time and provide filter for them?

My bad. I think i dont need water filtration since i do water change regularly, and the small fishes live happily with no problem at all.



I think the mistake is, direct sunlight and extreme heat. The big mushroom was not enough a shelter.

oic.. well i think the direct sunlight might be a serious problem tho. I heard few stories that their RES died because expose to sun for a long time.. and water get too warm easily in our country..

haha. good reference but that one too extreme and do not have much space to do it that nice. btw I plan to do something like in picture. But I cant put lighting and wonder if I need filter for it.. and will rocks actually hurt the turtle..

Nice enclosure. I think should use filter too, will save a lot of hard work later. And also, its nicer to have sounds of running water, instead of still water without filtration system.
