When you declare, what does it involve?...only your name, proxy address & the species and number that you are keeping? Do you actually bring it to the local perhilitan or just take a photo of them?

Just out of curiosity, what are they(wildlife) gonna do with the surrendered chelonians? Sell them back at a cheap price to public like in the past or put up for adoption?

Maybe throw them in the wild or send all to zoo? Or more likely some underlings or senior officials might just keep them for their own & no one would know what happened to them. Taking in 500 torts and just say sending back 400 back to their original home(doubt it would be done..Madagascar/Sri Lanka/india duh??!!) leaves them with 100 missing that could go to their own home and reported as dead in transit.

It's just so sickening to think you are surrendering ur pets to a bunch of goons that 1)cant be trusted 2)ur pets fate wont be any better & most will probably die either under suboptimal care or during transport. **reminds me of a story i heard that leopards confiscated at one time was all thrown into a water pool as the officers there thought they are marine turtles..can swim, all ended up drowned and died a cruel death**

We want to abide by the law but the law doesnt seem any bit sensible or fair in any sense sometimes. Just imagine if they said anyone with pirated DVDs/Mp3 must surrender all of it, if not get fined 100k if found...Im sure there are more heinous real crimes out there but they are not too active in tackling those, instead become interested in trivial matters that dont contribute to ppl's well-being/health and country's economy.

I may be wrong, but isn't this like having pirated movies at home?

Can these people actually raid our home? Let's say they ring on bell, we go quickly hide the animals, will they turn our whole house upside down, or will they just storm into our home? What rights do they have to do that? They need to get a search permit, get the police, etc etc.

So is the new law really targeting/scaring us or just mainly to traders which is much easier to catch?

Since TRAFFIC , WWF our local wildlife department want no " illegal" stuff in private hand after 29thJUNE  WHY not we donate to nature and set them free !!
