The common snapping turtle is a very violent aggresive and insane turtle....the AST is only violent when it eats.....other than that it is not as aggresive as the common snapping turtle....example..... if u put your hand in the aquarium..... at the back of the shell of the AST.....it wont attack your hand...... only it u put your have it its mouth it will snap at it......while the common snapping turtle....if u put your hand at the back of its shell...it will attack it....

QUOTE(static @ May 14 2010, 11:37 PM)
Anybody here with RES feed their sliders meat? I occasionally feed them cooked chicken, just a small piece, 5 sen size, every 2 weeks to 3 weeks. Also vegs like carrots, etc. And their regular food is the pellets.

Or just feed them pellets?
*
I had RES before...biggrin.gif and done some research on it..biggrin.gif

RES is omnivore...

RES when they are baby tend to be carnivore...so, feeding them chicken and fish is OK..biggrin.gif

when they get older, they will go for vegetables..biggrin.gif

here's a good website to learn more about RES..

HAHAHA! Just worry will get fine RM100k !  doh.gif
*
I dun think you should worry much about the fine(unless you are a trader)...

I mean if you really really get caught, I think you can try to "settle" it...maybe Rm20-30 can dy...(just like road saman)

and by the way, they won't suddenly go inside your house to search rite?.. biggrin.gif

turtle and tortoise doesn't make any sounds...LOL

Yeah lar...I think they won't have the time to raid every pet owner...LOL

it's not like the Tortoise/Turtle that you have is going to be very violent and kill the entire neighborhood..LOL

I think they will only raid very big obvious traders...LOL

so, don't be too afraid lar..biggrin.gif kakakaka....

just my 2 cent...biggrin.gif

i'm not offended, and most of us here aren't either.

maybe you haven't realized this since you're quite new here, but back in 2008-2009, many keepers had been convicted when they are caught with just 1 or 2 animals that were listed under the Wildlife Act. primary reason - they advertised those animals on the Internet.

and please note that back then the fine is not 100k.

just be careful ok.
*
oh ok2...I dun know that this happened before... sad.gif

Thanks for the advice...really appreciate it... smile.gif

what you mean by basking spot ? >"<
*
I had RES before..

RES should be kept in deep water..but then need to let them have a place to bask...so, when they are tired they can rest at the basking spot..and bask under the sun, or maybe ur basking/uvb light...biggrin.gif

This is a sample pic...

you can read more about taking care of RES in here...

This website used to be my fav website when I had RES..biggrin.gif
