1 red ring problem, Help

Last week, my xbox suddenly shows 1 red light and the e74 error. I read on the internet that it might be the component cable problem so when I took the cable off, the red light disappear but since I havent got any cable, Im not sure if its the cable or is it the xbox is the source of the problem. Should I buy a new component cable or should I just now concentrate on a new xbox?

Try on to get a spare cable 1st. if a working cable from your friend doesn't work then only source for a new cosole

just tested even with hdmi the e74 error still pop out. I guess I'll be saving for a new jasper set then...so if Im going to buy a second hand one, how to differentiate whether its jesper or falcon for asian xbox?
