If you want to show the World Cup in HD using B.yond, you'd need a DVI-D/HDMI HDCP input on the projector. Otherwise, the projector is a waste of money as you can't use it with BD players and B.yond. The Acer & Hitachi does not have any HDCP input so consider other models.

Also make sure you know the native resolution of the projector. Just like HDTVs, some 720p projectors can accept 1080p resolution but not displaying it in 1080p; for 720p projectors, displaying 1080i is acceptable.

When you setup XGA projectors, make sure you set it up to maximize its resolution. XGA is 4:3 aspect ratio so if it's SDTV, that's fine.

Also, the installation and design and material used for it is just as important to maintain it.

I think for 'Football' no need to be HD...your list of projectors also dun pump out HD stuff...which should be enough for normal viewing.

As some of the members mention, the rest of your stuff is also important to mention, so I guess you will be using the normal Astro?

yes. will only use normal astro...

My choice for now will be ACER X1261 since the spec quite nice for normal football viewing with high contrast..

Hopefully can perform well on outdoor environment..

I recall someone here mentioning that Astro Beyond cannot be used for commercial purpose.

Update.

My 2 last models after several filters have been made. Only these 2 suit my needs, functionality and of course...BUDGET! blush.gif

Acer X1261 VS Acer P1200 (yeah i know both are acer.. but what can i do.. both offer better specs and price)

I hope and I know this thread will be a reference to all LYN members that want to seek for a best projector to be used outdoor.
I've done a research on LYN, but no good result. flex.gif

I don't understand why you'd want to spend money on an SD projector and then project SD, especially since you're a business. For under RM3000 for the projector and adding just another RM20 monthly, you can attract more customers with your HD offering.

As for B.yond not available for business, that's what Astro tried to do years before with their regular service, allowing only five or six premium channels for nearly RM1000 in monthly subscription fees. Do you see your local stall have that limitation?
