For the proud owner of Asus A42JV, I would like to post some of my experiences and advises on how to increase the user experience especially on the mouse pad on this great piece of machine.

I have been a long time apple fan, and I have all the apple products range from Itouch , Macbook with magic mouse , and even Ipad. I would say that the user experience on apple products are great if not superb.

I have sold off my macbook (late 2009 version) which is a very new model just a few days ago in anticipating to get a Imac. I was told by my friend that he is using a newly bought Asus laptop which has great gaming capabilities. I was instantly attracted by the specs and price. I finally got my laptop on this wednesday in lyp at the price of Rm2740 include 4gb of ram.

In the first few hours of usage, I felt like I have made a big mistake by jumping back into PC. Actually, what I meant was not the fight between windows and mac os which you always saw on the youtube, I have used the windows 7 64 bit in my macbook before and I must say the speed of windows 7 is much faster than mac os. I like windows 7, but hate the design of the laptop with thick casing, soft speaker, not so nice to type keyboard , and of course, the mouse pad. Although it advertise as multi touch mouse pad, but the scrolling experience is just out of the league compare with macbook.

..... those were my experience after few hours . But these are what I experience after 4 days.

The mouse pad is a great piece of tech. I can even use it to play Starcraft 2. Notice that there is an icon on the down right of your screen, and the name is Elan smart pad. Click on it, and proceed to the "tapping" . set the one finger , 2 fingers , and 3 fingers to the setting you like. For me, i put 2 fingers as "pop up menu" and 3 fingers as "return to desktop". I must say that the user experience of the mouse pad is really on par if not better than the macbook. It did all the superb thing.
