Try uninstall the driver
then boot to safe mode
use driver sweeper to remove the remaining driver
restart and enter normal mode
install the driver

9800GT is more powerful leh.....

Because that's how Optimus designed to works...

If Optimus is on
Nvidia GPU(do the calculation) --- copy the output ----> Intel GPU -- display ---> Screen
If off
Intel GPU(calculate) --- display --> Screen
The integrated will always work...

The major problem with Optimus is the driver, still not mature and buggy...

Well, the main objective of Optimus is to make it automatic, no need user interference....

which is different with the manual hybrid, which both gpu work independently and when you switch, it would give blank screen couple seconds and also need to close some programs....

It will depends on the manufacturer want to use which size, nvidia provide both....
