very lucky one coz ony one shop selling this..
the other shop selling the i3..
so hard to find this lappy at first..
but still, i want the i5 520M but too long to wait so i grab this one..
at least, it is i5 which is better than i3 =)

i think i just saw a a42jr today at lowyat plaza ........ din buy it cause my bro ask to save money to build a rig of my own...... ....hope that a42jr will have a good owner....

I bought an ASUS a42jk (i5 430m) las pcfair in KK Sabah. The GPU is almost the same as a42jr, without directx11. Installed Battlefield Bad Company 2, ran smoothly under medium-low with 4x antiphiosphic filtering settings 1366x768 ( the graphics & effects are still superb in such settings). But of coz its wise to upgrade to 4gb RAM so programs will run fast & without lag. Battlefield took like nearly 1gb+ memory ... so 4gb is needed.

Temperature during non-gaming times stands arnd 48~50C, during Battefield max at 70C so i tink its good there. I'm using a coolermaster btw.

The diff is the higher clock. Bear in mind that A42JK i5-520m come with 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, Ati HD5170..compare with A42JK with i5-430. The price just -RM200 diff so I bet i5-520 has better deal if ur budget allowed.

yesterday i went to lowyat plaza. Got 1 seller selling a42jr i5-430M 2gb
ram at rm3099 which is ridicilous. Just because of the graphic card. No seller selling a42jk i5-520M yet. But seller above me got sell that model. Hehe.. The drawback is you're based in penang. But, still thinking to get from u bro. Your price boleh tahan.

well, seems like the problem at TSMC is actually more severe than i had expected...

40nm chip is still having a pretty low yield compared to 55nm...

AMD probably wants to save the production on the more lucrative ones like HD5650 and desktop ones...

this is bad for everyone in the industry...

hey guys... i think if u reli wan, u can look up at pc world. i gt mine from pc world. A42JR i5-430 for RM2799. besides tat, pc world wil include a 7yrs service warranty for u. so its quite a good deal.

yeap 7yrs of service warranty.. not jus for asus.. but for any brand of laptop or desktop u gt from them.. i gt my desktop from them n everytime dere is a prob wit it, i jus bring it back dere n they wil jus fix it for free..unless hardware prob then ya have to pay for tat part.. u can check their website out.. www.pcw.my

new update from C-Zone at facebook. The have a stok for new jk series with hd5145 . all processor version are available.
