QUOTE(lady joe joe @ Aug 11 2010, 04:32 PM) its weird tet some ppl can run sc2 smoothly on ultra setting while some cannot although all using the same laptop... smooth is subjective term for some people 30+- fps is smooth for some ppl 40-60fps is smooth

but ppl with the same laptop get different fps.... that's the weird part...
@chang3rd, upgrading ram yourself won't void ur warranty.. if you're scared, ask someone in a shop to do it for you.. Go to device manager and click properties of HD5470 to see ur version, just search in ati website for latest drivers

Getting Started

|
just checked and updated my drivers.. have yet to try playing TF2 yet, but even if I don't update driver, will it really affect my machine running TF2 so bad ?
or you think 2GB ram is not enough ? but i believe it can run better games than TF2
maybe somewhere something is wrong.. like u said, (almost) same laptpop but different outcomes

Since we are on the topic of SC2, is anyone experiencing horrendous load times in campaign?

Oh yes.. Ram should be the problem for SC2, i remember someone saying it consumes 1.4gb+ of ram when playing

I accidentally deleted a partition without knowing that it is the recovery partition as disk management says that its an unallocated space which is 20gb... Luckily i have burned the recovery, but is there anyway to create a recovery partition from these DVD?... Can anyone help me to see whether u guys have any unallocated space from the disk management?... There is also a folder in C: named eSupport and preload, aren't those folder suppose to be the recovery?...and why does windows folder in C: is 8GB+?...

No other way to recreate the partition unless the Asus technician do it for you... Windows is 8GB+ since its Win 7.....

The eSupport and preload was used on the first time you configure the Windows It installed the driver, preinstalled apps, etc.. You can find your driver inside it, you can copy it to other place if you are lazy to download the driver..
Can't check the disk management, the A42Jv not in my hand anymore....
