This is off-topic, but can somebody please explain to me how come Athletico Madrid suddenly have loads of $$$ to splash around on players??? So far they've already spent 50 million euros on signing players... ...where's the money coming from?

They maybe mid-table club in la liga, but in term of social mass they're no.3 in Spain after barca and Real mandril.

I'm actually tipping Athletico Madrid to do well this season, they've made some quality signings...might be able to break into top 4 as well.

they always look good on paper at the start of each season but they always disappoint. i don't see this season to be any different to be honest

Roberto Ayala looks set to return for Valencia on Saturday after declaring his intent to leave the club earlier this summer.

The 33-year-old Argentinian stopper was named in Fifa's All-Star World Cup squad after impressing for his country in Germany.

But a disagreement with club officials over his contract extension saw him openly declare his desire to quit Estadio Mestalla.

While a host of top flight clubs from England and Spain were rebuffed in their moves for the experienced Che man, he now looks set to start in the important Liga game away at Atletico Madrid on Saturday, and appears happy to do so.

"I am not worried by my quotes in the last few weeks," Ayala explained.

"I am an open and truthful person and my opinion is important. Life takes many twists and turns, but for now I am only interested in the present.

"I want to win the coach's confidence to play. We have had a lot of time to assess the situation but I would never abscond.

"I took my time to decide whether to stay in Valencia or not.

"Now I am 100 percent committed to Valencia because I am a total professional."

Actually our current first choice for centerback is Albiol and Ayala.I dont understand why Aragones picks Marchena for NT squad.He should pick Albiol instead.Albiol is class and he's just 20.Our midfield should be Edu and Albelda.
