3. USB port that's usable is on the DIR-615 modem.. use it + Dlink shareport software to share a USB device over your network.
*
hmm.. can we share a multifunction printer (printer + scanner)?? eg: HP Photosmart C4480 printer??

i know the printer function will work but how about the scanner??? i heard the Dlink shareport software is able to do scanning also.. is that true?

No drilling was required as well as they slip it through one of the aircon pipe holes that had enough space put the fiber cable through.
*
hmm.gif i thought aircon pipe holes are located high up near the ceiling?? and did the installer open up your aircon so that they can pass the fiber thru the hole??

That would be the case but not at my house. There was just enough space to put the cable through so thats why no drilling required smile.gif
*
ya.. i understand.. what i meant was...........

the pipe connects outdoor unit and indoor unit rite? since you're using the existing pipe hole to put the fiber cable thru it, means that the fiber cable will come out from the air con indoor unit if you didn't open up the aircon and let the fiber cable pass thru..... rite? means u need to at least "kacau" the aircon abit to let the fiber cable pass thru.. am i right?? just assuming wink.gif

Correct. Need to kacau abit..there is actually a small gap(size of RJ45 cable) between the aircon pipe and the wall. The fiber cable goes through there..
*
oooooo.... i see i see.. thanks for the heads up ya smile.gif

I don't know how some people can still use 1mbps.. 2mbps is usable, 1mbps feels like dial up nowadays. For ADSL, its worse since the uplink gets saturated so easily. When your PC downloads some Adobe or antivirus update in the background, the whole link starts to lag :S

I just signed up for Unifi at my new house in Bukit Jelutong. Signed up through their agent Proxus doing a roadshow in Empire Shopping Gallery. They said they can install in 2 weeks time. Does anyone know if in Bukit Jelutong they pull the fiber cable in from the front or the rear of the house? I am in Birai and the green box is in the back alley.

Anything I should watch out for during installation?
*
Bukit jelutong resident here smile.gif but my mom still dun wana upgrade to unifi =.=
i think they will pull from behind your house (the lil' green boxes)... just not sure how are they going to pull the fiber until your house..
