It's quite depressing reading that everybody has no problems with their unifi besides me sleep.gif

Last week I had my download and upload speed going all the way down to 1mb and speedtest.net showing my ip in Indonesia for some reason. Then thinking it was all fixed, today my upload speed went down to 1mb using unifi's speedometer and bloody Indonesian ip again is showing up on speedtest.net!

Note that i'm using VIP10 package too. Already closed a report and now i have to reopen it again with them @_@ and the previous week they didn't do anything to fix it...somehow i fixed it myself by turning on QOS engine in the router settings and for some reason that fixed it but today doing that isn't working D;

there is no ISP that does not have problems....just make a a report and chase them..while we "enjoy" our ADSL.

Indeed not all ISP are perfect and i already did a report. I'm annoyed at the fact that nothing was even fixed to begin with.

Try redialing till you get an IP that's from the UniFi range. It looks like the IP block you got still belongs to Indonesia ISP. Does your IP start with 110.159.x.x ? If not redial till you get it and run the speedtest again.

Yeah it is actually. It even says Telekom Malaysia Berhad but my location is in Indonesia instead of malaysia.
I'll show you what i see on speedtest.

What's your IP? Some of you think that because speedtest.net chose Indonesia as your closest server, that you have an Indonesian IP. That's not true.

Get you IP from whatismyip.com/org and check it against the apnic.net database.

inetnum:      110.159.0.0 - 110.159.255.255
netname:      ADSLSTREAMYX
descr:        CORE IP DEVELOPMENT,
descr:        TELEKOM MALAYSIA BERHAD
country:      MY
admin-c:      SM135-AP
tech-c:      EAK2-AP
status:      ALLOCATED PORTABLE

As far as I know, all Unifi users so far have been put on 110.159.x.x and this entire range is a Malaysian IP range. But some sites think that Indonesia/East Malaysia is closer to this range so they select Indo as your speedtest server.. no **** your speedtest will be slow.

And yes, the Indo server (PT Telekomunikasi) which it defaults to (yellow star) has terrible connectivity.

These are my own Unifi speedtests.. as you can see its the ISP field which matters because it tells you what ISP/IP range you're on. The server field is what server you're running the speed test against. When I change between MY/Indo server, the 'server' field changes but the ISP field remains the same.

Don't simply make reports if you don't understand what you're looking at, lol

This is an issue with the GeoIP database speedtest is using, not your line.

Oh wow you just made my worries go away especially after reading about TM having backdoors installed on the router or something. But it still doesn't explain why im getting 1mb upload speed and my last weeks problem...and i'm getting the same upload speed problem using Unifi's speedometer from their main site.

Like I said, the GeoIP database is screwed up ._.

And if you read my post I linked earlier, it was to show that speedtest.net isn't that accurate. If you want to test your lines max capacity, multiple connections such as those made by bittorrent will do the trick and max your line out for you.

Speedtest.. not really. I can't pull over 6mbps on it with my VIP20 connection but I get 20mbps easily using torrents/multi-threaded HTTP downloads.

EDIT: I think my keyboards 'R' key is spoilt sad.gif

I think ill take your advice and do this "bittorrent" thing you kids always talk about and see what turns up! Thanks for the help!
