Actually i using vlan tagging from asus router.

it does work successfully for vlan tagging to the switch on the router itself.

i using WL500Gp V2 and rt-n16 for vlan tagging.

vlan tagging is depends on the chipset u using.

Linksys WRT300N do support vlan tagging too, if you manage to find it, you should able to done it.

Asus WL500GP v2 The BCM5354 supports a WAN connection via its configurable media interfaces. The per-port programmable four-level priority queues enable QoS (IEEE 802.1p) for guaranteed bandwidth applications, DiffServ/TOS, and L2/L3 IGMP snooping. The IEEE 802.1Q VLAN allows flexible implementation of VLAN grouping and WAN port segregation.

lol, i hope they never done much thing, i just successfully setup internet + iptv on asus router, but everytime iptv broadcast, my wlan can't work.

this make me scratching my head...i using openwrt anyway,

anyway, here is what i found out why my linksys wrt54gl why cant make for vlan tagging

5325F in case of the WL-500W,
5325E in case of the WL-500gP v1.
The "F"-model only implements port-based VLAN, whereas the "E"-model additionally implements 802.1Q based VLAN - which is what we need here - and even IGMP layer 3 snooping...hehehe!

Cuz MX sekritly works for TM ohmy.gif  ohmy.gif  ohmy.gif  ohmy.gif!

@MX

If you can, please ask them about the cap.. 60/90/120 is way too low for the price we're paying. We need to know when they plan to implement it, what happens after we hit the cap and if Unifi-to-Unifi bandwidth counts against it. It wont be so bad if traffic between Unifi users isn't counted.. at least we can set up our own Unifi support + file sharing community which should only utilize their local switching capacity. It's pretty lame if they can afford to stream unlimited IPTV @ 8mbps 24/7 but include Unifi-to-Unifi traffic in the Internet quota measurement.

Also, tell them to secure the network properly lah.. I don't want to pay RM250/mth for 20mbps just so some other guy on 5mbps can uncap his line to 100mbps and pay RM149 for it. What's the point in implementing data and speed caps when anyone can just get past it ._.

@Riz

Actually, the way of uncapped via modem config, also happen in Singapore.

If you stay in Singapore, they actually have a rules for that.

Starhub/singnet will routine scanning randomly or hourly, if they detected, first time is warning letter + the penalty charges.

2nd time will be life time ban for your name under starhub/singnet
