Saw them doing the underground cables at the Jalan University road, near to the drive-through KFC outlet.

Most of them are getting good speeds streaming video sites such as YouTube. This is for now and what will come in the future will not be known. smile.gif

UniFi users, after subscribing to it, the phone number will be different is it? Also, it does not use the traditional phone port anymore is it (because my house alarm connects to the copper line)?

You get to keep your current number. The line is totally separate. It doesn't use the traditional phone port at all.

If I understand correctly, keeping current number meaning still having to pay an additional RM25 for the fixed line rental fee right (should I choose to keep the copper line)? Also, if it isn't using the traditional phone line port anymore then I think my house alarm system wouldn't be able to connect to the phone since it connects to the traditional port.

Previously when they launched the UniFi service, it was said that the throttling will be down to 10% of your advertised speed, so if it is a 5mbps, you will roughly be capped at 512kbps. Now someone from TM mentioned 250kbps in an e-mail, I don't think they are generous enough to give about 2mbps? I think they have changed the policy to 5% instead of 10%. sweat.gif

Quite disappointed to the fact that there are some big changes to the service availability plan for UniFi. When they initially launched the service, Petaling Jaya was stated to be at Q3 2010 and now just a tiny part of PJ is covered, no signs of other parts of PJ in Q4 2010 either. :S
