It would be a good addition to the guide if you can list down some recommended custom router that can be used....

Add some google ads. Can generate some $$ to buy hardware to mess around with doh.gif

God knows they will update the firmware and we will need to come up with something to bypass their bullshit shocking.gif

As mentioned in the guide, any router that you can use with Streamyx is usable. It just cannot be an ADSL-only router (the kind with an inbuilt ADSL modem and RJ11 phone jack as the WAN port).

Lol, I want to keep it clean as a purely informative website (hence the clean and simple CMS layout). I'm not really finished with it, I have to add method 2 soon but I'm kinda tired at the moment.

I found a very good candidate router for p2p. But it's wireless performance sucks a bit, but if you can put up with that, i think it's the best option next to rb450g or atom mini itx router doh.gif

Draytek Vigor 2130n

The review:
http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/wireless/wi...-2130n-reviewed

Specs:
http://www.draytek.com/user/PdInfoDetail.php?Id=111#PdInfo

What caught my eye

Switch
---------
- Port-based VLAN
- 802.1q Bridge
- 1 Gigabit WAN port
- 4 Gigabit LAN Ports

VPN
---------
- 2 VPN Tunnels
- IPSec LAN to LAN, L2TP over IPSec * and PPTP Remote Dial in
- Encryption : 3DES, AES
- VPN Pass-through
- PPTP MPPE

Bandwidth management
----------------------------
- Layer 2/3 QoS by Ethernet Type, VLAN ID, TCP/UDP Port, DSCP, ToS, Tag Priority
- Bandwidth / Session Limitation

*check the review for the full set of features. Too many for me to list rclxub.gif

Demo for router configurations
http://www.draytek.com/user/SupportLiveDemoDetail.php?ID=59

Vlan port for the Unifi + vpn to bypass throttling (this won't bypass bandwidth cap if they add it later) + set bandwidth and session limits for each connected device on your network.

Idk, I'm pretty comfortable with the DIR-615 acting as a vlan bridge.

Some networking 'experts' lol.. They could have asked me how I hit 600 nodes in 4 seconds, simple nmap syn scan on Unifi range to reveal every open system. Oh well I suppose newspapers have to make things sound simple ._. TM may just patch this whole VLAN bridge thing soon, see what they have to say.

lol, i hope they never done much thing, i just successfully setup internet + iptv on asus router, but everytime iptv broadcast, my wlan can't work.

this make me scratching my head...i using openwrt anyway,

anyway, here is what i found out why my linksys wrt54gl why cant make for vlan tagging

5325F in case of the WL-500W,
5325E in case of the WL-500gP v1.
The "F"-model only implements port-based VLAN, whereas the "E"-model additionally implements 802.1Q based VLAN - which is what we need here - and even IGMP layer 3 snooping...hehehe!

What kind of response? The usual double d's (denial and deflect blame) o_O; ?

Just want to ask, how come my Device Admin page don't have Operator Password section as mentioned in the Router Security guide? (Screenshot)

TM should really buck up. Unifi was supposedly available in Shah Alam. I am in Shah Alam... the termination point was in place months ago... when called not available yet. Fine. sent a few mails asking them to upload a map of areas where the HSBB is available... never replied.

"...As of May 7, there were about 1,700 UniFi customers..."

...TM has already completed 311,000 premises passed, surpassing the target of 300,000 premises passed by the end of March...by year-end 2010, TM’s UniFi will cover 48 exchange areas with a total of 750,000 premises passed.

i wonder if anyones scorecard will be affected. assuming they have 3,000 customers today vs say 350,000 premises that are able to subscribe to unifi. that is a really low take up rate?
