QUOTE(dr3nchippo @ Jun 24 2010, 01:50 AM) nice site moogle.. signed up for ur site but never got the activation email.. File sharing network maybe us unifiers can do some sort of file-sharing like this, im sure the speed would be nice, as the local speeds were getting is closed to the ones we subscribed.. btw, rizvan what's a dc++ hub?? |

QUOTE(Acrisius @ Jun 23 2010, 10:20 PM) Request also must made from a Computer right? hahahah... If you trying to DDOS, confirmed that you are controlling tons of computer at once and attack into victim's IP. No one or hacker will be so stupid to use a single Computer to do tons of request into victim's IP. Perhaps you will just hang your computer rather than able to DDOS someone's computer or server. Lmao DDOS Failed. |

There's even a forum section for it.. I believe it was being hosted on a Streamyx line with a no-ip DNS service before this. If enough Unifi (and maybe even Streamyx) users are interested in it perhaps we could reboot the project? I don't know who's in charge of it though. Could get a Europe/US based VPS and set up the DC++ hub daemon on it, limit the connections to Streamyx, Jaring and Unifi based users only or something I was actually running some speed tests between my 20mbps line and Moogle's 10mbps line, seems to max out at 500-700KB/s for some reason using FTP and HTTP. No idea what the performance will be like on DC++ but Unifi -> Streamyx would likely saturate their bandwidth on a single thread |

Dc++ is a great idea with the increased upload speeds but better wait for the cap thing announcement(next year?) before starting it up again...

rizvanrp, thanks alot for the answers. I think the best way not is still to use tmnet damn router as a bridge and connect it to our own. I just simply hate how telekom monoply things in their business. You see, the limit here and there, but we are paying at a big amount for the service. So it's not just the customer they control and spin like a ball.. they're closing helthy competition in the market especially for other organization to compete with them. It's been like that since we were using dial-up. You see, one disadvantage for us is we couldnt get the extra more. No competition means... no reduce in price... no rapid improvement to compete... no rise in technology. So it's not flexibility, customer satifaction, or user-friendly they are trying to captive us, it's making us stuck by spinning the ball in a fixed whole. It's like the will spin, it will just spin there. That's why if there is a way i can throw their stuff, hell i will. I'm not a technical guy, i'm more on business and analysis. So this is just my thought.
Anyway bro, if you've found a way later on or new method connectiong the Unifi, update and guide us inside your web-page. Thanks. Added on June 24, 2010, 2:07 pmnot to mention their services are very very poor. customer service or whatever, some of them are really slow or really dumb to even use basic common sense. just to share with you, they drilled a hole in my living hall to bring in the fiber cable from outside to inside. to add it more... it's in the middle of my living hall at center between my sofa and tv. I was speechless when i got back, i wanted to explode but knowing luckly i'm moving out in a couple of months to my new hse. Also, knowing how dumb they can be just made me realize they are not worth it to waste my enerrgy for. Dont tell me they dont have enough money to send those installer for a proper training and proper installation guideline. Common sense bro, will you drill a hole in your damn living room in the middle of one side where it's damn visible? that's not stupid, that's already way beyond stupid. Sorry technician, no offense.. I'm just shooting live bullets to telekom and their crony. This post has been edited by Shazlee69: Jun 24 2010, 02:07 PM |

UniFi service disruptions due to upgrading exercise
QUOTE PETALING JAYA: Telekom Malaysia Berhad’s high-speed broadband service, UniFi, experienced downtime on Thursday from midnight to 6.00am due to a scheduled upgrade exercise. The areas that were affected due to the ongoing upgrade exercise were Bangsar, Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, Subang Jaya, Shah Alam. TM said in a statement that was in the process of upgrading its HSBB network to a new platform to improve network performance and service quality. The company used its Twitter account to announce the service disruption on June 17. An announcement was also posted on the company’s website (http://bit.ly/9MT5up) on June 22 notifying users of its scheduled upgrading exercise. The next service upgrade will take place on July 1 for Bangsar, and July 7 for Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, Subang Jaya and Shah Alam. The upgrade exercise will take place between midnight and 6.00am on those dates. For more information, users can contact TM UniFi Centre at 1-300-88-1221 or via e-mail at unifi@tm.com.my. http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=..._medium=twitter |

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Jun 24 2010, 02:57 PM) UniFi service disruptions due to upgrading exercise looks like Unifi users must subscribe to Unifi twitter so that they can know the latest upgrade exercise...http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=..._medium=twitter |

Lol, 4 hours ago.. someone who claims they're from TM gives me a call, states my full name and asks me if I'm a Unifi subscriber. I say yeah and then they inform me that they want to replace my 'remote'. I'm like okay ..
2 hours later, some random guy (in plain clothes and a non TM vehicle) shows up at my doorstep with a brand new IPTV set top box remote control and hands it to me.. then asks me to pass him my old remote control or he can't give me the new one. Since I have no idea what the heck is going on and can't be bothered about IPTV, I just pass him the remote and he hands me a brand new, identical IPTV set top box remote control and asks me to sign a form confirming that he's delivered it to me. So I'm just in a 'what the **** just happened' state at the moment :/ Called Unifi tech support and they have no idea about this either. Yay for random IPTV STB remote control deliveries. I wonder if they're going to give me a second Fiberhome unit next :3 UPDATE : Oooh, it seems like some of the buttons on the previous IPTV remote are defective. Guess some of you guys will be getting a call from TM soon This post has been edited by rizvanrp: Jun 24 2010, 06:16 PM |
