Before I begin my review on the
Moshi Concerti for iPad2 , Over the weeks of searching a perfect folio case for my iPad2, to my personal taste. I find that the
Moshi Concerti , is a must buy for every iPad2 user.
If you are looking for an folio cover that is an all round feature good, then
Moshi Concerti might just be the one for you. Yes , there is no doubt that you will find many colourful gimmicks that will make you go wow , or maybe something alien to us. Thing is for me , there is no substitution for comfort, quality and a durable folio case and good thing for us is ,
Moshi Concerti looks elegant at the same time.
========================================================================================================================
First Impression
First impression on the
Moshi Concerti , it has a really sturdy and durable look that you know this product will go for years. Now , this is a matter of personal taste , some folio will have their product initials carved somewhere at the top . In my opinion the Moshi logo in the middle , is just simply elegant. I don’t know how to explain but it gives you somewhat the high class factor , you get what I mean.
Now first glance at the cover , you guys must be wondering what is that stretchable strap across the folio. That is actually to cover the other side of the folio so it doesn’t flap like a chicken wing. A friend of mine has an iPad cover, unlike the
Moshi Concerti , this one is without the stretchy strap. So over time , his covers seem to be less proportionate to one another . Imagine if u slide your iPad2 in a cramped bag. A slight jerk would cause the cover to stretch. You don’t have to worry about this if you got a
Moshi Concerti , put it in a cramped back and go hiking with it , your cover is fine.
========================================================================================================================
The finer things in Moshi
The folio case of the iPad2 is largely made out of Microfiber outer layer which is very soft , a better description for the material is something like velvet but it is much more finer. If you find there is some dust on your cover , feel free to wipe them off with appropriate force because the microfiber is unlike velvet , they won’t be scraped off easily.
Other than that , the
Moshi Concerti is properly tailored . You will never find a thread that is hanging out hence reducing the chances of you ripping out the entire threadline.
========================================================================================================================
Inside the Moshi
When you open the
Moshi Concerti case , you will see 4 small rectangles. These are holder points to hold your iPad from sliding when u bent the cover in such a way to place it on a flat surface. You’ll get what I mean with the pictures below. A variety of tilt angles can be done.
Another interesting feature is what I call the hand slide, now imagine you’re holding your iPad2, most folio cases will only allow your fingers to support the iPad , now with the extra pocket , your palm and your fingers are supporting the iPad, if you’re holding the iPad for a very long time , this way , it is less stressful for your wrists.Well you could consider this a safety feature as well , your iPad will stick to your hand incase someone just bumps into you out of a sudden.
The compartment for you to place the iPad is made out of Hybrid silicone inner case with Terahedron microfiber. The protective case is actually very fitting to the iPad , it holds the iPad tightly but not to an extend that you can’t even remove the iPad out again. The holder is highly scratch resistant and acts as a shock absorber incase your iPad hit any edges. Like every good iPadholder , your camera points , sleep wake button, headphone jack , side switch , volume buttons, microphone , and the other key points are not obstructed.
========================================================================================================================
Disadvantages of Moshi Folio.
A bad thing about the Moshi is that the microfiber is like a dust magnet , make sure you dust some particles off daily to keep a clean look .
Another feature that is inconvenient is that the Moshi somehow obstructs the back camera view unless altered in a specific tilt angle. This is because the folio cover is a full protective cover , covering your iPad2 just the way I like it . So if you want to get some pictures taken , flip it over and you are good to go.
========================================================================================================================
CONCLUSIONUndoubtedly, I definitely think the
Moshi Concerti is an amazing casing to begin with. The design is good. Details are everywhere and the material is unique and away from the norm of leather-like cases or carbon-fibre wannabes. Although there are disadvantages appear in the
Moshi Concerti,
Moshi Concertis still the iPad's case of choice for me! No doubt about it! Not many comes even close to it in the terms of practicality and functionality. I can foresee myself using the Concerti for a long long time
