Normally the warranty can be extended when is the time you purchase a new vaio from them. If you decide to extend later , you can do it within a month from the date of your purchase , after that I don't know what to do anymore.

WARNING - Sony Malaysia does not have the right technical AND customer relations ability...they cannot even decide how to resolve a Black Screen problem after giving me the run around, wasting my time, effort and transportation costs as well as the most important thing which is TRUST and RESPECT.....Ive already written to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs' tribunal section....
Costs me about GBP 1,500-00 for a Vaio VGN A517S way back in 2009 and Id expected a very skilled technical AND customer relationship level from a world class brand that has lost its place to Samsung :-)))
And Sony Malaysia has et to provide me a guarantee that there will never be a black screen problem if I were to agree to their last so called expert diagnostic!!!!

Hi konsama, my 0.5 cents comment here tongue.gif
For all the new VAIO that you purchase , you entitle for 1 year warranty , if your sister register her new VAIO in sony website, she got additional 3 months warranty,so total up is 15 months warranty but it's still up to you. To me I don't think is worth it smile.gif

FYI,I'm bought my first VAIO and is VAIO Y series @ RM 2,999 and so far I'm happy with it.

Hi,
You can try SonyStyle counter. The SonyStyle in Curve have a customer service dept as well, so you can try there.
Not sure if you can extend or not

Added on May 30, 2011, 6:40 pmIf the addition 400rm is a concern, then dont extend.
If not, then think of the 400rm as peaceful sleep for 2 additional year.

p/s: the warranty does not cover for battery wink.gif

did finding the service manual but to no avail. its kinda old gen S series. if you arent confident, try the service centre or any authorized/knowledgeable to change the HD for VGN S series. sorry cant help much.

I have a problem with my z-series laptop...
Where can i replace the led screen for 13.1 inch?
any opinions?

Thanks for the reply. I dont mind paying for the cost of the screen since sony said its human fault. The lappie feel down, and the screen is cracked.
Anyone have contact where can i repair it?
