guys i know this is not so a thread to be open but im in a dilemma now....im planning to get a lcd tv soon and i wanna get a 42". the thing is that alot of brands now are doing only 40" or they are plasma 42" which i im targeting lcd instead. so my question is, is there a big difference btw 40" and 42"....do recommend some brand as well...curently i saw a lg lcd 42"...pretty good stuff....but im not sure how realiable it is....

40~42inch same category.....dun mean much in actual viewing...dun let the 2 inch deter you in getting your dream set whatever it is....regarding the brands...its a subjective issue....I'm using a Panny Plasma, and if I upgrade I would certainly get a Top End Samsung LED set....stunning.

but seeing the price difference btw these 2 is almost the same..or wuld i said more or less...bro if i had the ke-$$$ i would have got myself a led tv alr...without cracking my head..unfortunately this is only wat i can reach.......my sitting distant would be around 5'....anyway im not so concern bout the position and stuff.....yeap im in love with samsung as well..but they only got 40"...

When you eventually get it...please dun mount it too high!...this is common mistake..it breaks your neck

Just sink in to the sofa and make sure your chin level is same as the bottom of the viewable screen...but then again...different ppl. got different taste.

Agreed.. Me too had this dilemma a week ago.. than i decide to just buy Samsung 40" full hd lcd. u wont feel the different much between 40"-42".

Go for lcd set that have built in media player. at least no need to spent more on separate media player.

Built in media player, as in my Samsung lcd, can be use to play movie directly from your external hard drive. this of course need to be connected through lcd usb port. the media player also can be use to display image and play mp3 from external hard drive or sd card slot (some lcd got this).

Some high end lcd can even connect to the internet directly. its all based on your budget and preference..

Bro, this 2" difference is insignificant and dun forget it is diagonal measurement.

Another thing media player evolve very fast, faster than the TV. So the built-in media player will be obsolete very fast and it is NOT upgradable!

Also, some model can't output DTS audio, only in stereo!

well im guessing that if at all the media player run out of date there are always other sort of media like new dvd player or something like that. well looks like i should just forget bout tat extra 2" and focus more on the functions. but one thing i like bout lg is that they have built in bluetooth where you can use your headphone esp when you are watching in the nite so that it wont wake up the house. samsung has very good picture quality and so is sony. arrhh dilemma dilemma......ok goinna make another trip this weekend to rnd second round....

So far I haven't come across a really good Bluetooth Headset that can beat out good audio, only good for conversation. Which brand and model Bluetooth Headset are you using to watch the movie?

i havent got the headset cuz i dun even have the tv yet...hehe....but a frend of mine told me there is brand that he uses for he's ps3, is called senhaizer or something like that which is good for both audio and conversation. but the one ive tried is wired...he said there is a wireless version also. ..

I bought Samsung la40c550 at RM3049 from SenQ.. it has LAN port for direct playing movies from my network storage / PC...media player super smooth.. can play all my movie collection..

hey thats a good deal you got there....did they like offer you the astro beyond thiggy as well or were there any other FOC stuff included....
